Hi I have just started seasonel I'm on day 4now, I am very concerned with the amount of clotted blood I'm issuing forth. Is this normal? I can't do much as I'm already very anemic. I have a cyst the size of a tennis ball on the left ovary, I'm only experiencing server cramps on my left side to the point where I can barely stand(from sit/lay position) is this normal??

I have been on Seasonale for 3 cycles (packs) now. I was put on it because I was getting severe migraines the week before and after my period. Now I only get these migraines during the month that I am scheduled to get my period, the week of the inactive pills. However, here is my problem. I was originally on Diane-35 to help make my periods more regular, and lighter, and decrease the pain of cramps. I couldn't move much during my periods the cramps were so bad. However, When I started on Diane, I began getting migraines that i never had before I was on it. When I first started Seasonale I had no problems. My very first inactive week I actually had no cramping and bled for only about 24 hours. I've never had any breakthrough bleeding. however on my seconds cycle, my period was significantly heavier and I had some bad cramping. This week is my 3rd time through and For the last 2 days I have had such SEVERE cramps I have actually had to go home from work because the pain was so bad it was making me naseus. And this is with 800mg of Ibuprofen pumping through my veins! my period is so heavy I'm going through a extra-super tampon in 2 hours!

I'm on Seasonale right now, my first cycle of it (first pack) and I have experienced the breakthrough bleeding (which doctor's say is common with birth control pills) and I have experienced cramping (sometimes just light cramping, sometimes doubled over in pain cramping), I have another symptom and I'm wondering if others have experienced this while on Seasonale.  About a week ago, I started to have burning in my southern region.  I have read on some sites that this can occur while on Seasonale.  I have been to the doctor and I took the pee test (twice) but the doctor didn't tell me if I had a UTI or not.  It seems that I get the most intense burning first thing in the morning, but in the afternoon to mid evening the pain seems to lessen.  I'm just looking for answers, that's all.  Thanks.

I have been on seasonale for 1 month.  At first it was great then during the 9th week I started spotting.  This lasted for 7 days and then the blood clots started...HUGE blood clots.  The bleeding was unbelievable.  I was saturating a pad every hour or so....it was literally running down my legs.  It was horrible.  I also had uncontrollable weight gain and my bra doesn't even fit me anymore...none of my clothes fit me anymore.  I've become very depressed...not as a side effect of the pill but as a side effect of the side effects.  I stopped taking it.  I'm still bleeding very heavy and I don't see an end in sight!....This is just my experience but I don't recommend Seasonale as all.   Good luck to the rest of you, my heart goes out to you.

Did stopping the pill and restarting stop the bleeding?

Hi. My doc prescribed Seasonale to delay my period. My period started today and I will start to take a pill coming Sunday. When would you say I am going to have breakthrough bleeding?

Topamax is also known to cause breakthrough bleeding with birth control.
