Brown spotting is considered normal, but if you have any red bleeding or cramps then go to a doctor

Many women experience some sort of bleeding in their early pregnancies. The bleedings may be characterized as spotting of fresh blood (red light) or brown blood (old blood) although some women may have larger amounts of blood.

In most cases, the cause of the bleeding/spotting may not be found and women continue to have normal pregnancies while in some women this may mean that they will have a miscarriage.

This is why it is said that all bleedings during pregnancies should be checked as well as to see if there’s a physical reason for the bleeding like the presence of a polyp (benign growth in either uterus or cervix) or an infection. I suppose you have already had an exam.

In the end, I would just like to add that some kind of bleeding/spotting is common in the first 12 weeks and that you shouldn’t be worried but that it would be good to have it checked for the piece of your mind.
