ive been on the pill for about 7 years. I have been going out with my boyfriend for about a year, we don't use condoms because we have been tested (both negative) for STDs and I'm on the pill. I originally went on the pill because I was underweight and wasn't having periods at age 17, however have had them every month since I started taking it.
Last month, about 10 days into my pill, I noticed a brown discharge-slightly more discharge than normal and what looked like old blood. We had had sex (quite vigorous and quite a lot) over the days before this-so I wondered if it was through trauma? Anyway, went to the GP who examined me and said my cervix was inflamed and red and also there was discharge there. Did swabs, high vaginal and regular-she basically said she expected it to be an STI-but all came back negative. I also had a smear about 11 months ago which was also clear. Anyway, the situation cleared up itself and the doctor said I didn't need to return if I was okay, however at exactly the same point in my cycle as last month the same has happened. We did have sex the day before, and for the few days before, so could it just be trauma related? My only past medical history I think of relevance is that I've had a couple of UTIs which I think have been sex related at the start of our relationship, but all okay now.
Any help and advice would be much appreciated, have currently just torn my cartilage in my knee so can't get out to the doctors very easily so just want some advice!
