im 16 years old and i an sexually inactive...but lately a couple days before my period i started noticing brown thick discharge in my panties..i dont know what it is and it really worries me.. does anyone know what it could be?
Before I started my period, around age 13, I was noticing a thick brown discharge almost resembling what I thought was tar. I had no idea what it was, and since I had not started my period yet I was pretty freaked out about it. I had been sneaking around smoking cigarettes and I thought that what was in my panties was coming from the cigarettes (lol). I don't think you really have anything to worry about. I am 21 now and every once in a while before my period starts I experience dark looking and sometimes unpleasant smelling discharges. I'm not a doctor or menstrual expert, but I have talked to other females about it and all of them have experienced some form of discharge before their monthly cycle begins. If you are worried, you should try to talk to your mother, or a female adult that you trust with personal issues such as your period. Maybe they can help you set up an appointment with a gynecologist and have some of your questions answered.
