This sounds very similar to what I've been going through for the last week or so. I'm a cardiac nurse so I'm used to having the classic heart attacks/GERD patients in all the time. At 24 years old I would like to think it's just GERD, I've been in Sri Lanka for the last 6 weeks and I think the spicy food is the root of the problem. Bit worried about flying tomorrow because I still have symptoms and it's making me feel rubbish but hoping to track down a pharmacy and some antacids before I leave!

I was about to start planning my own funeral. All the same symptoms, tingling in both arms and hands. Sometimes I even get hot flashes, and at night I run out of breath right when I'm falling asleep and get jolted back to reality. It only happens right as my mind is about to shut off. Saw another cardiologist today and he said, my heart is perfect, chest pain is not related to it. Had 3 EKGs, stress test, all came back perfect. I will say, my diet has been absolute garbage for months, if not years and I was using chewing tobacco for about 10 years. Totally not surprised about these GERD issues, just glad to have found others with similar issues. I've had GERD for years it seems like but now it's finally kicked into a higher gear and the pain in the chest threw me off. I think we all need a better diet for starters.

I’m very interested in the results? I’m dealing with very similar issues and my doctor just keeps telling me it’s anxiety. It’s not. I know it’s not.

I am a 55 yr old female athlete. I eat clean , exercise weekly and currently have all of the same symptoms. This is not the first time however and every time it starts back..the heartburn, numbness in all limbs, heat palpitations, etc...i think it is my heart and then i take note of my diet. usually i have let some things slip back in consistently like jalapenos, red pepper flakes and red wine. Please take note of your diet before starting any pharmaceuticals and maybe consult a homeopathic doctor. Just one initial visit can get you going down the right path. Every individual is different. Also, just want to share that when i have heartburn i take i tablespoon baking soda in half glass of water, chug. Works every time! wish you all good health!

I have had pretty much the same symptoms for the last 11 years. After going to many specialists and having lots of tests done only to be told that I was fine and I had Generalized Anxiety Disorder and that I may never know why, I've finally figured out what's causing all of this. A few weeks ago, I'd told my chiropractor that my neck was really jacked and that I'd been icing it daily for months, she immediately said, "I'm ordering an MRI for you." Got the MRI results back and I have some serious problems in my neck! Cervical Spinal Stenosis among some other things. I have an appointment with a neurosurgeon in the morning! So, for all of you out there, please remind your doctors that all the nerves lead to the spinal cord! One of my worst symptoms was the "Trapped burp"...now that I know I have severe neck issues, I've found out that if I (or my husband) massages my shoulders and neck, it helps to relieve things and I'm able to burp! But, man, oh man...it's been many years of dealing with this and oftentimes feeling like I was going to have a heart attack or stroke. I'm definitely not saying that everyone has a stenosis going on, but it's well-worth checking into! Peace & love to you all in your quest for answers!

I burped ceaselesly only when i ate too little for the day. As of last week i've been burping non-stop. 2 days ago i noticed the sides of neck feel tense and i'm experiencing pain in both forearms. I've felt dull chest pains a few times. The doctor said i have dyspepsia/ indigestion. I was given antacid pills but it doesn't work. Have anyone experienced this before?

I have the same problem. Fatty foods usually bring on a GERD attack: I get very gassy and the pain shoots down to my left hand. Sage tea helps relieve the gas pain. Sauerkraut (made with salt, not wine or vinegar) is usually a very good remedy for indigestion. Sometimes your stomach gets some type of bacteria from something you ate or drank and creates all the gas that presses on the nerves and causes severe carpal tunnel-like symptoms. I was doing well for a while, then I reintroduced dairy back into my diet. Big mistake! I also find that greasy foods will trigger a GERD attack. Currently, it was a small meal of fish and chips that brought on the attack which has kept me up all night. Sage tea helps with the flatulence, and the sauerkraut kills whatever harmful bacteria is in your gut, causing you the discomfort. Sauerkraut is one of the first things I try when I have any type of intestinal or stomach disorder. (I ran out of sauerkraut, and it will be the first thing I go buy once the local Russian store opens today!) Abstaining from dairy, acidic fruits, fruit juices, tomatoes and tomato sauces and other acidic and oily foods will help prevent a recurrence. Good luck, and I hope all of you find some relief soon.

I've had these same symptoms for years. It's a weird combo of reflux/anxiety/nerve pain. Reflux pain is severe and can cause anxiety which in turn causes more pain. Left arm pain will take people to the ER and then they find nothing wrong. I think it's what they call referred pain. But, it can make you panic and of course that causes more symptoms. It's a terrible cycle to be trapped in. If things are very bad I try to take Zantac and something that will coat my stomach. Then, if I'm feeling panicky I take a small amount of anxiety med. I lay down with my back and head elevated and I do relaxation from head to toe, try to empty my racing brain and reassure myself all the tests have told me it's not my heart and I DO NOT need more tests and I DO NOT need to go to the ER AGAIN. The tests themselves can make you feel like you are going crazy because the pain is soooo bad and yet little comes up on the test. My personal opinion is that there are people with very sensitive systems and nerves and they tend to wreak havoc. Once the pain begins it will spread because your nerves are now super-sensitized and on alert which can also make you feel anxious. Hope that helps.
