Hi, did anybody use a medicine called busiprone? A doctor prescribed it to my boyfriend, with an argument that he is anxious. He might be a little worried and irritable, but I don’t think that he needs a drug for anxiety. However, he thinks it might help.

I don’t think that the doctor would precribe busiprone to your boyfriend if he wasn’t really anxious. He should try, it might really help. Busiprone helped my wife, and she had the same symthoms as your boyfriend does. She was so irritable, worried and anxious, I thank God for this medicine. The only thing about busiprone that bothers her, is that she can’t drive a car while she uses it. Your boyfriend could start with 10-15mg in 2 single doses per day, and then increase it to a maximum of 60mg daily. However, the dosage is based on your medical condition. The most frequent side effects are vertigo, agitation, insomnia, headaches or nausea, and less frequent are insomnia, confusion, depression and tremors. Sometimes, side effects can even be movement disorders of the face, mouth, tongue, arms, or legs.

I also take this medicine. It has helped me with my anxiety. I discovered, that my dosage is 10 mg a day, this way I can drive also. It takes the edge off and I don't feel irritable. I still have difficulty sleeping, but my dr. perscribed Albrazalam and I get a good 6-7 hours of sleep with a .50 dosage. Hope this helps your boyfriend. Anxiety is no fun. But the medicine makes me normal. I am grateful for it.
