I am a 49 yr old male very active and have just had my second disection fussion in 5 years. the first surgery fused C5-C6. The surgeon passed on fusing C6-C7 and repaired the disc instead, 5 years later guess what? I did not hesitate to have the surgery as many of you who have had it know all to well about the severe pain and loss of function of hands and arms. Now that I have had it my arms and hands work fine and I am getting more and more feeling back every day. However I don't seem to beable to get a straight answer from any one including the Surgeon or other physicians as to what my limitations are. I have only been told that I do not want the C7-T1 fusion if that were to wear out. Anyone have any ideas as to what a person can or can't do. I do realize everyone is built different I am only looking for some basic guidelines I can use. I have pretty much a desk job as a Dir of Facilities believe it or not in a Medical Center. Yet I love the outdoors, gardening. Thanks for any help anyone can give me I really appreciate it.
