I had only allergy testing injections over three weeks ago. Since then I have had increasing pain in my legs, shoulders and all my joints. It has gotten so bad i can't sleep. Can it be the test injections?

I am going off the shots because I have terrible neck and shoulder pain and had no idea the shots could make my tendonitis and arthritis worse.I am now going to a pain clinic and taking tons of pain meds and getting steroid shots.I started having terrible neck and arm pain about a year after starting shots.I am curious to see if this helps. One day when getting a shot the nurse ask me if I was having neck and arm pain, until then I had no idea they could make it worse.Tony

child on allergy shots for 7 years now-formula changed about 2 years ago. he is suffering pain in his legs so bad that he can barely walk the next morning. he was out of town all summer so no shots for 4 months. got a totally stepped down shot & could not go to school the next day because of intense leg & body pain. he also has lost lots of foods & spices. phenol & glycerin is carrier of allergy injections-i am thinking it is one of these causing problems.

child has extreme pain in legs after shot--next morning. it took 2 years of shots to figure this out because he has so many food allergies-he has lost lots of foods in last year also. he has had shots for 7 years but formula changed about 2 years ago.

This forum is weird because you can't seem to get to the latest posts. I signed up with my email so I could follow this because my child is taking allergy shots for mold, trees, cats, dogs, grasses, dust mites. The formula for shots was changed about 2 years ago & he has been losing foods & spices & has intense leg pain (walks on tiptoe & misses school the morning after shots). The carrier for shots is glycerin & phenol--I just asked the allergist. Maybe is the phenol or glycerin causing problems is my thoughts.

just wondering how your symptoms are now? I have contacted a lawyer because the side effect on me is affecting my work performance..

I'd like to know how you make out with the lawyer. I also stated in an earlier post that I would let everyone know if and when I felt better. It took me six months to recover from the shots. My last set of shots was on 2/13/2017, and on 8/11/2017 I started to feel like myself again. While I feel better overall, I am still dealing with residual effects. I have seen 20 medical providers, was hospitalized with blood clots in my lung and pulmonary artery, and now have an autoimmune disease that is causing painful body rash. Luckily my rheumatologist and dermatologist speak to each other and work together to try and help me. I am now on blood thinner for the clots, and cyclosporine for the rash since I became allergic to prednisone. I will soon be taking chloroquine for the autoimmune disease and am hoping that I will feel a lot better soon. I still have muscle tightness and am hoping that is being caused by herniated discs. I was all set to get an epidural injection in my neck to alleviate my arm pain when the blood clots were diagnosed. I now have to wait until I'm off blood thinner to get the injections. I'm still in denial about an autoimmune disease....it was my worst fear realized. I am still very angry about this disruption to my life; I feel it is very unfair! I am also waiting for my hair to grow back because I lost about two thirds of it with my drug reaction to prednisone. It affected my scalp and it just let go of my hair. This whole thing has been very upsetting and I haven't been happy in well over a year. I look in the mirror and don't like what I see. I am just a shell of the person I was before all this c**p started. All because of menopause and allergy shots.

What did you do to help alleviate the pain?

Yep me too exactly what person said legs feel tight and like they need to be stretched. I hardly sleep and have to take a muscle relaxer. Going off shots after about 4 months after reading this blog. So helpful thought I have RLS and got a drug for that even though a sleep study ruled that out years ago. Awful!

Yes to all of th above symptoms. I have seen several doctors and had several different test ran and am now wondering if the allergy shots I’ve been taking is the reason for all my symptoms this year

I just started allergy shots about four weeks ago. I had tried them about seven years ago and don’t remember why I stopped but was having some negative effects from them. Each time after my shot I get muscle and joint pain within hours and by bedtime even though I take Claritin I wake up with more muscle and joint pain mugraine fatigue congestion and itchy throat. The next day I am totally debilitated an Un able to get out of bed. I feel like I’ve been hit by a bomb. last week the doctor put me on steroids. yesterday he gave me the same dose injection didn’t increase it and the same thing happened. I don’t think i allergy shots are for me. I already have chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia and this is setting me back. He put me back on steroids today. I can’t jeep doing this. I also have food intolerances and some chemical sensitivities. I guess it all stems from My faulty immune system. ive been diagnosed with a primary immune deficiency CVID and things seems to have gotten Worse lately. the allergies themselves are a killer and cause fatigue and muscle/joint pain. I thought this would help for next year but don’t think I can go on like this. It is unbearable. Not just a little headache that you can take a tylenol for. It’s like a full body reaction! Glad I found this thread.

Wow, so glad to see this. I started allergy shots last spring and by the middle of summer, I could no longer lift a 20lb kettlebell. My arms ache and it gets worse at night. I just now made the connection to the shots. I would rather have a sinus infection than this constant pain.

I'm having a lot of pain in both arms after the shots. I stay tired from them too.

I am feeling the same way. I hurt so much after the shots. I'm thinking about stopping them.
