Damned if you do and damned if you don’t. I just got hit with something that started in my throat ...it’s going around here .....and had to start on augmentin and medrol dose pak to avoid it turning into a sinus infection. It would have been my third sinus infection in 3 months. Anyway, couldn’t swallow, headache body pain so it may have even started viral but always fear it turning into bacterial sinus infection so the doctor gives me antibiotics. Hate taking them but hate infections.
My allergist advises me to stop the shots and meet with him again in January. Can’t keep having those reactions. He may try an even smaller dose to see if I react. He said he may even test me with the diluent only as sometimes patients can be allergic to that versus the allergen.

Wow, I came across this regarding allergy shots. I am tyring to see if mine is related also.. I have sever bursitis in shoulder and aches pains in other areas of my body, I have been getting shots for over 2 years, they help allergies but I feel they are the culprit of my bursitis in both shoulder and other pain. How r u doing now? Did you stop the shots?
I started with numbness on both hands, now fatigue, leg and feet pain. Of course weight gain my arms also, I thought it was old age, normal but, I have always been healthy this is slowing me down.
I just got my second set of injections. The night if the first injections i started itching. I Also started having low back muscle aching. Can't decide if it's the shots or the arthritis and cold weather.
It’s definitely the shots. Stop them now. Not everyone is suited for allergy shots. I had 4 sets and it took 6 months to recover from all over body pain and now I have an autoimmune disease that is causing painful body rash. Don’t let this happen to you. It’s been over a year now and I am still struggling with my health. It’s just not worth it. Use antihistamines and avoid foods you might be allergic to - it’s the safest way to deal with allergies.
Yes, my arm hurts. It always lumps up after the shot and the area itches and hurts. Now it hurts to lift my arm. I’ve been wondering if it was because of the shots, it’s always worse right after I get the shots. Sounds like others have experienced this too! Interesting! We
I, too, have been experiencing arm and shoulder pain following my shots, as well as some joint pain. It varies. That is, the pain will just pop up out of the blue in either arm at any time. I can't lift my arm straight over my head without feeling pain. Right now, it's my left arm that is aching, with the pain so intense. I have always had a high pain tolerance but what I'm experiencing now is above and beyond any pain I've experienced other than following a surgical procedure. After reading all the posts, I believe my arm and shoulder pain is a direct result of my shots as well. I have been working out with a trainer since last September, so I don't believe my pain is related to my workouts. I would have had these issues well before now -- and it's not like I'm now lifting an excessive amount of weight. Also, I don't recall ever having this much joint pain after a workout.
I started allergy shots weekly one shot each in both arms. After 3 months I got really bad bursitis in both my shoulders . Is this a side effect that can happen? I have been to orthopedic Dr an given cortisone shots in both shoulders three times and PT for 12 weeks but can not get rid of this pain so I have stopped the allergy shots . Any recommendations? I have also had X-ray
I was taking allergy shot for 25 years and have painful neuropathy in my feet leg and all ten fingertips I quit the shots 8 years ago after 6 months from quitting the shot my feeling started coming back. I take strong medication for the pain since I started taking 200mg of alpha lipoic3 times a day my right foot pain is totally gone this took 3months. I think the alpha lipoic is helping my neuropathy I am going to try a vitamin b 12 complex that my doctor also suggested hope this helps.
Hi, I am so glad that I saw your post because I have been doing the allergy shot for a year now, and I have pains in my arms, my shoulder, wrist and sometimes my feet. My ANA level is positive now. I was wondering if the allergy shots cause me pains in my arms and other parts of my body. I was perfect normal without the pains before starting the shots. I am thinking if i should stop the shots and to see if i will feel better. I wanna see if your symptoms have gone away since you have stopped the shots. Thanks!
Hi Steve,
i wanna see if your symptoms went away after stopping the shots. i decided to stop the shots today and wonder how long it will take me back to normal too.

I have symptoms that you all have described with body aches, extreme fatique, low grade fever and weight gain. I started the therapy last fall and currently in the "red" level for the past 2 weeks (2x/wk). The day of each shot, I'd get hives around my neck and under arms (tender areas). I would be so fatigue that grocery shopping would take the wind out of me. I'd have fever that comes with chills for days after the shot.
As far as weight gain, I gained about 10 pounds in about 7 months (with same eating habits and yoga 3x/wk). I couldn't figure out why until some of you have mentioned that these shots could be the cause.

Same here just started this year and having stiff neck. Swollen neck muscles. I stopped the shots and think they are related. Ringing in the ear from the muscles being inflamed. Started getting whelps from the shots.
Yes they can. I get allergy shots and it always hurts a lot. It does cause pain. I started about a year ago. I feel pain in the arms and major cramps to where I can't even lift them up sometimes.
I got my first allergy shot on the back of my arm yesterday. Aside from the swelling and itching, I got a rash up my neck and today my arm and neck are achey as all hell. It hurts to use my arm at all. I also got the worst knot in my shoulder.
Do you think I should continue?
Maybe it would be better if my Dr. lowered the dose?
Help! Thanks :)
