Hi, I'm posting here as I'm really at my wits end with a pain in my urethra which has now been going on for 4 months.

Initially I'm sure it began after oral sex with my husband (of 20 years) and we thought maybe he had caught my urethra??  The pain is very specifically at the bottom left side just into the opening of my urethra when I pee and it was initially very red but this seems to have subsided somewhat.

I have been to the doctors and been tested for everything imaginable, UTI, STI, HPV, swabs, urine, etc have all come back negative but still I have this pain. It's not  a cystitis burning pain or anything like that and I don't have to pee more often, it's just a particular sore spot which some days doesn't seem quite as bad as others.I have tried all the usual things like cutting certain food and drink out of my diet but nothing is making a difference.

This is really getting me and my husband down and he feels responsible for causing it as doctors have found no infection.   The doctors now suggest me having a camera in there to look and maybe a biopsy but they say that too is likely to come back negative, so I don't really want to put myself through the pain of that procedure if it's not going to give me an answer. :'(

Would love to hear from any ladies that may have had a similar experience.

I have had the same thing going on for the last month and a half. It started on vacation, which was two trips to emergency because in the Beginning I was also peeing blood. At the beginning it hurt so bad that I was scared to pee. It's gotten a bit more Manageable but the pain is constantly there. It's a chronic, burny- sometimes shooting pain right on my urethra and nowhere else :( I'm 26 and my boyfriend and I used to have a great sex life but there has been a lot less of that these days. I have been tested for gonnorhea/chlamidya, uti, a full hemotology profile, countless urine cultures, all came back negative. Waiting on an hsv blood test, but I have been with the same guy for 2 years so I'm not expecting a positive result, but you never know I guess. all I know is I want my health back! Also going for a kidney ultrasound next week. I feel your pain Girl!!! Keep me posted on what happens.. Does anyone have other ideas or experience relating to what this could be from?
