I caught some strange disease on my last business trip. It was somewhere in Africa. They treated me with some also, strange medication called Chloramphenicol. When I finally got home I went to my GP for a check up. He told me that my blood platelets are very low. Can Chloramphenicol cause a person to have low blood platelets?
Why do you get sick in foreign country and complain after it? I am just joking. Chloramphenicol can cause low blood platelets. This one is well known side effect of this drug. That is the one from more other adverse effects of this drug. Because of this Chloramphenicol is not commonly used in western countries.
