I suffer from coldsores quite frequently. I usually get two a year, one in spring and then one in the autumn. They are often extremely painful and on average last around ten days. I appreciate that there is very little that you can do to prevent them occuring but recently, (and i'm presuming this is due to my coldsores, as they always occur in the same place) my lips have started to scar, so much so that it looks as though chunks of my bottom lip, in the right hand corner, have gone missing. It looks awful and is really starting to make me feel self concious. My lip looks all uneven with white pigment marks making it look as though chunks of my lip are missing. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? And are my coldsores the cause?
