When I was 13, I had my left fallopian tube removed because it was wrapped around my right ovary and was filling with blood. Over the next 4 years my periods started disappearing and at 17 I was diagnosed with PCOS and was put on Yasmin birth control. At 19, I stopped taking my birth control because I started feeling very sick. After stopping the birth control, my periods started disappearing again and now, almost 23, I RARELY get a period. The last full period I can remember having lasted 5 days and was in November of 2008. I sometimes experience light spotting that lasts a few hours to a few days but it's not consistent. I know having PCOS can stop you from having a period but could missing a fallopian tube cause this as well? I believe I might've had a miscarriage in February 2009 because I experienced heavy bleeding, a lot of painful cramping and I excreted a large piece of tissue. I am not sure that this was a miscarriage because when I realized that it could have been one, it was too late to see a doctor to confirm this. I don't believe this was a period but is it possible that I bled heavier due to not having a period for some time? I know I should consult a doctor but I do not have any health insurance at the moment and the bills would be sky high. Any information or advice [nesides telling me to see a doctor] would be helpful. Any links to sites or anything will be gratly appreciated. I'd love to have a child in the future and I velieve I am infertile as well. =[ Thanks for any help provdied!
hey there,
i had an ectopic pregnancy two years ago which took away my left tube. shortly after i experienced weight gain and lack of periods which then led me to find i had pcos. after 20 months of no periods i am finally starting to get them back. i had a test done which was to check the female hormones in my body, the reason why i wasnt having periods is because i wasnt producing any oestrogen. I couldnt take any of the hormone pills because they cause migranes. instead i actually went on sertraline anti depressents which have seemed to put my seritonin back to normal and allowed my body to function as it should. i also went on a low gi lifestyle since i found out. i also take sprirlunia powder, which is algae full of nutrients. i also do at least 30-40 min excercise a day, after eating which is really good for pcos.
