Men cannot get bacterial vaginosis, but it is a possibility that he might be passing on some residue or bacteria onto you when you have sex. Bv is caused mainly by the imbalance of good and bad bacteria due to an increase of ph levels in the vaginal lumen. every women is different so there are different problems each of you face. stop using antibiotics, it wont work for you in this case as bv keeps coming back. Try some home remedy medications and see what that does.

I dated a guy for 10 years and I was always faithful. While I was with him, I had BV more times than I can count. It was horrible. One time it even spread to my kidneys and I was hospitalized. It was so bad that I worried about having sex sometimes, making it unenjoyable. I tried everything. I always suspected he was unfaithful but had no real reason to believe my suspicions. One night, it was approaching 10pm and he hadn't been home all day and I had hardly heard from him. I had an odd feeling in the pit of my stomach. I called him and he answered but sounded weird. He told me he was at a near by restaurant with friends having drinks. I said I'd come and join them. He said he didn't want me to and I was instantly suspicious. I asked him to come home soon or I would come. Come to find out, he was at that bar with a girl he had been dating for 9 months behind my back. She had no idea he was in a relationship, much less LIVING with me. This girl and I had a long conversation and found out we both had a bout of BV around the same time. A few months later, I ran into one of my ex's old best friends and his wife at a bar. We started talking and this old friend said that he was happy to see me move on because my ex had been unfaithful to me more times than he can remember and he thought I deserved better. Today, I have been dating another man for 2 years. He's very nice and I have not had any BV since seeing him. I know you can get BV in a lot of different ways. But considering I tried everything to avoid BV to no avail, and have not had it since ending my relationship with my ex over 2 years ago, I do believe my ex was picking up bacteria during his unfaithful escapes and spreading it to me and causing BV. Trust your intuition. A doctor likely doesn't know all of the facts and wont speak as to what may be going on in your relationship.
