I have been married to my husband for 12 years. I just found out he had been having an affair without using a condom for 3 years. I have never had a bacterial vagiinosis infection in my life. I have never cheated. 3 years ago this is exactly what I was going through. When he was having sex with her frequently, I would get it frequently, when he stopped, I had no problems, when he started back with her, here cane the problem. Only after we had sex, no other time did it occur. White ball like discharge with no smell or itching. This has to be the reason.

BV is sexually transmitted. My boyfriend caught it from someone and passed it on to me.

I have been having the same thing going on with my husband for the last five years. I get bacterial vaginosis everytime we have sex. I use rePHesh gel or antibiotics to get it to go away but then it comes back everytime we have sex. I dont understand why it only comes back when we have sex. This has actually caused a huge problem in my marriage because i thought he was cheating on me. Now i am doing reseach and finding out other women who are having the same problems. My OBGYN told me the only thing she could come up with was that he was having sex with other women and our ph balances didnt match up and was causing this. So we are curently going through a divorce. If anymone can give me answers please do so.

Men cannot get bacterial vaginosis, but it is a possibility that he might be passing on some residue or bacteria onto you when you have sex. Bv is caused mainly by the imbalance of good and bad bacteria due to an increase of ph levels in the vaginal lumen. every women is different so there are different problems each of you face. stop using antibiotics, it wont work for you in this case as bv keeps coming back. Try some home remedy medications and see what that does.

Boric Acid cured my BV. I put it in clear capsules you buy at any health food store. I inserted in my vagina and it dissolves over night. You can also make a topical cream if you mix boric acid and Aquaphor healing ointment used for babies. Also, only use water to wash down there- no soap! Anything but water will cause irritation and change your vagina's PH levels.

By far, this analysis makes the most sense. Sometimes, I even smelled some Virginia smell on my ex husband penis. I told him m, wow you smell like a woman.

Thank you Cassie, your response is the same as what I have said and experienced. You can get BV & Yeast Infections from a man. Like you've stated, a man's sperm can set off a woman's balance. Also, a man's saliva can cause such Bacterial situations. Condoms also can cause females problems if they have sensitivities to the latex or lubricant on the condom. Someone stated not to make such accusations because it will ruin a relationship. Well I know My body & when a man cheats & does not use protection, he is mixing 3 different bodily fluids, yours, he's & hers. Which can & will cause infections or worst. So if I have to make such accusations then it's not as good of a relationship after all.

I dated a guy for 10 years and I was always faithful. While I was with him, I had BV more times than I can count. It was horrible. One time it even spread to my kidneys and I was hospitalized. It was so bad that I worried about having sex sometimes, making it unenjoyable. I tried everything. I always suspected he was unfaithful but had no real reason to believe my suspicions. One night, it was approaching 10pm and he hadn't been home all day and I had hardly heard from him. I had an odd feeling in the pit of my stomach. I called him and he answered but sounded weird. He told me he was at a near by restaurant with friends having drinks. I said I'd come and join them. He said he didn't want me to and I was instantly suspicious. I asked him to come home soon or I would come. Come to find out, he was at that bar with a girl he had been dating for 9 months behind my back. She had no idea he was in a relationship, much less LIVING with me. This girl and I had a long conversation and found out we both had a bout of BV around the same time. A few months later, I ran into one of my ex's old best friends and his wife at a bar. We started talking and this old friend said that he was happy to see me move on because my ex had been unfaithful to me more times than he can remember and he thought I deserved better. Today, I have been dating another man for 2 years. He's very nice and I have not had any BV since seeing him. I know you can get BV in a lot of different ways. But considering I tried everything to avoid BV to no avail, and have not had it since ending my relationship with my ex over 2 years ago, I do believe my ex was picking up bacteria during his unfaithful escapes and spreading it to me and causing BV. Trust your intuition. A doctor likely doesn't know all of the facts and wont speak as to what may be going on in your relationship.
