I too am in the same boat as you, never got it with my ex, then after 3 years with him I did. I suspected he was cheating because I caught him in the night coming in the house, I didn't jump to conclusions, I thought he was outside smoking a cigarette. We broke up and I had several partners in between, only one of them I would get BV from. I found out and confirmed he was cheating. Recently I have gotten back with my ex, again. I keep getting bacterial vaginitis and yeast infections. Is he cheating? I'm pretty sure of it because there are a lot of things that don't add up, like his GPS location on his phone saying he was at someone's house from 1am-4am. Though he denies it (a cheater always will).

Just like thrush (yeast infections) BV is also caused by a slight change the bacteria that are found an that changes the natural flora in the vagina from either to acidic to not acidic enough therefore causing either condition to form.

Three years ago I found out my husband was cheating on me. He started sleeping with the other woman in November of 2020, and he was caught in February 2021- and then ended it.
During that time frame of November-February - I had reoccurring BV- every single month!
I’m in my 40’s, I have been with my husband for over 20 years, and I had NEVER had BV before.
Once their affair ended, I haven’t had it again.
So- I’m 100% confident that he became a carrier after sleeping with McNasty- and he passed it on to me consistently while he was sexually involved with her.
He had a vasectomy years prior- and he told me it never occurred to him to use protection with anyone “since he couldn’t get anyone pregnant”.

My husband WAS absolutely cheating- He was caught.

I’m mid 40’s- I never had BV before he started cheating- and I haven’t had it since.
I did, however, have it every month that he was having unprotected sex with an other woman.
I also had given him a BJ during that time; totally unaware that he was slumping around, and I also contracted mouth thrush. I had given him oral 100’s of time prior to him cheating and never had thrush.
I have had neither in the 3 years since-
There is no way the BV & thrush were coincidental . No way that coincidentally, I only had both during the exact months that he was cheating. My husband and I had been together for over 20 yrs- had unprotected vag/oral sex together 1000’s of time prior to him straying- and I only had BV/trush during the exact months he was sleeping around. I obviously got it because he was cheating- my GYN agrees.
