Hi. I'm 18 year old female.
I have really big problems with my sleep. I don’t know what could cause this. About a year ago I have lost my mother. She was diagnosed with cancer in his 39th year of life and this affected on my greatly. I had spent with her a month in hospital and I was sleeping very short time per day. Since that period I have develop some sleep disorder. I sleep approximately 2 or 3 hours per night and this making me very nervous and tired almost all the time.
Did I develop some serious problems and what could I do to cure my self?
Well, if this is truth and you really sleep about 2 or 3 hours per night then you are definitely developed disorder called insomnia.
Insomnia is difficulty in initiating and/or maintaining sleep and it can be successfully treated.
There are different kinds of insomnias such as: Idiopathic Insomnia, Psycho physiological Insomnia, Childhood Insomnia and many others.
I believe you are suffering from one type called Transient Insomnia.
This type is in fact sleep disturbance temporally related to acute stress, conflict or enviornmental change causing emotional agitation.
Treatment include behavioral modification, some light therapy and good sleep hygiene.
