Have the same problem, just started about a month ago. It lasted 10 days the first time, now it is starting again. Did you ever figure out what was going on? I just thought it was an allergic reaction in the beginning but not so sure now.

I understand as I am experiencing the same thing. In my entire life I've never had chapped lips and never a cold sore; now all of sudden my lips are severely chapped and swollen, now they peel and weep and itch. I've been to dermatologist and she states its probably an allergic reaction. Can't find out to what as I've been routine with my diet and ennvironment. At first I thought it was a memory foam pad for bed, but symptoms have returned and I removed the foam pad. If anyone can suggest anything that would be great.

4-days later .....I shared my swollen beet red raw lip experience with a RN girlfriend. Her thought is an allergic reaction to something [I believe a moistureizer I've been using the last 10 years based on a similar experience with my eye lids 12 years ago with a different moistureizer I'd used for 10+ years that took a steroid scrip to clear them up.] With that, she recommended I try a cortisone cream which I did last night. I am happy to share that it hasn't been quite 24 hours and my lips are half way back to normal already!

If you find any information on this = PLEASE Let me know - as I have got the same symptoms. Under my Tongue is very sore, My bottom Lip feels swollen & a burning sensation all the time. - Gums red & sore - Painful to clean my teeth. I have bought bottles of Oraldene mouth wash & keep rinsing my mouth out. - Also bought Oraldene Gel to gently rub round my Gums. - But still suffering with the condition. - Now I am feeling generally unwell in myself. I may be wrong, but to me it feels like some form of Allergy. The only thing different that I have been eating quite a lot of is Rocket, - But I wouldn't have thought that would effect you - unless it has been sprayed with anything before reaching the shops - to help preserve its shelf life. ( Am not going to have anymore - to see if the condition improves )

I have also been dealing with hives since the middle of August. They come and go for me now. The Dr told me to take Zyrtec and continue my other meds with includes a thyroid pill. I take that every morning on an empty stomach.
Lets see what else, yes I have a thyroid condition, hashimoto's thyroiditis and pernicious anemia.
-----------
I also have Hashimoto's and at 47 years old, started getting horrible hives in the fall. Long process short= Chronic Hives, which is another auto immune disease. I had a blood test done and the marker showed up. Chronic hives sometimes goes hand in hand with Hashimoto's, usually showing up early in the detection of the thyroid problem. However, not in me. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's at 11. We are playing with my Synthroid Rx. Lots of studies show level of Synthroid meds can keep hives at bay. Haven't had to take Zyrtec in 3 months.
