Recently I had noticed my vulva is burning outside. When I look it from my mirror, I can see some little slits, like lips are really chapped. It really burns me when I wipe or shower. My only theory was to put Vaseline and try to heal it. Has anyone experienced something like this, because I need advice how to back to normal life?
If your vulva, or lips, seems to be chapped you should care of it on especially careful way. You should use only warm water to wash the vulva. Drying should be with a clean towel, or if it’s too much irritated, try to dry it with a blow dryer set on cool. Vagina cleanses itself naturally in the form of normal vaginal discharge, that’s why you should avoid douches especially it it’s irritably chapped. These products can upset the natural balance of organisms. Wear only 100% cotton and avoid nylon, acetate or other manmade fibers. To care of chapped lips you should wash underwear with mild soap and not detergents. To avoid extra irritation of chapped vulva, use tampons instead of sanitary napkins to control menstrual bleeding. Off course you shouldn’t scratch. Also try to avoid feminine hygiene products such as sanitary pads, feminine spray deodorants, Vaseline, old, greases, bubble baths, bath oils, powders etc. Vaseline I wouldn’t recommend you because it cause some yeast infections and may weaken condoms to the point of breaking.
