Thank you so much for the article and sharing.I am 43 and this just started happening to me.the breathing problem lasted 14 days I had pain in my chest/heart/stomach.I couldn't breathe unless I was sitting down and than I labored to breathe just sitting there.I was suffocating and I couldn't stand to take a shower because I was just trying to breathe.I was dizzy and absent minded as well as very weak.i was itchy and had dry skin with hives..This isn't my first rodeo doing this but this time I thought I was going to die.NO MORE I'm done. Not worth the misory .I didn't know that this was why this was happening until I read your post.THANK YOU so much. This is reinforcement for me.

I see lots of crazy answers here, in reality its more like pulled or strained muscles from the intense puking, very common

I haven't puked in years, but I've been paying more attention to my posture. I find myself leaning on and into my left arm a lot while working my desk/computer job. I've been trying to break that habit to see if it helps. Doesn't explain the breathing issues though.

Wow! You so have described myself! I love to drink my wine at least twice a week! but I cannot have more than two glasses or I also have a hard time breathing the next day or so! I have suffered for 24 yrs! In and out of hospitals by ambulances as well! GI cocktail helps relax the LES muscle .... when I feel an acid attack coming on when I can't breathe my hands get cold I tried not to hyperventilate so I always have a Coca-Cola classic in a can nice and cold on hand cuz that will break every bubble you have in your stomach! but again it's darn if you, and darn if you don't! ... only for emergencies because of course it also has acid but it works momentarily to help you breathe
but I believe my problem is due to acid reflux disease. The lower esophageal sphincter muscle stays opened , and I was also diagnosed with a hiatal hernia! I'm now in the process of going to UCLA to take a pressure test on the esophagus and my 4th endoscopy and go from there! I really feel for you! it's just not fair when we want to have fun or enjoy our beverage... but we are limited! good look to you! I pray for your healing! ♡

It's called silent reflux. Acid going into your lungs and bronc tubes. Just google it. I hit 40 and this is like attacking my body. It's terrible.

Then on top of silent reflux comes the anxiety of feeling like a heart attack. My reflux is from a condition called gastroparesis. Stomach is slow to empty.

Hello, did they do anything to drain the fluid out of your lungs?

Here’s a success story:
46 year old male drank beer all night in the hot tub on a Saturday. Monday through Thursday had a wildly irregular heart and no sleep due to very poor breathing. Bought a bronchodilator inhaler which almost immediately opened my lungs up. Then, had an acupuncture appointment and she was able to bring my heartbeat down 20bpm with an even rate. Feel WAY better and am really turned off booze at the moment.
