I am a 50 y/o female, experiencing chest pain/pressure, on and off for a few years. I am 5'10 and 155-160, so not overweight. The pain sometimes gets to be significant, although, to me, not bad enough to warrant a visit to our local ER. I know that stress is a major playor and I try to manage, as well as possible, what's going on around me. I have for the most part switched to an organic, whole food diet and that has helped considerably, but I still have intermitent chest pain...like tonight! I just took my BP and it was 99/72, pulse 114. Not too far from normal. On an average day it's 120'ish over 78-80 pulse 80-120. I had a stress test 2 years ago (for this very problem) and everything was WNL. EKG however, showed MVP. I elected not to go on Nexium and beta blockers.
I am working with some success, with meditaton and guided imagery. As a healthcare provider myself, I find that while at work, I have little to no pain. Strange, isn't it, when our goal is to help others, we can at the same time calm, and help ourselves. But the minute we leave the office.....the very thing I am treating others for, I experience.
Anyone else expereinceing the same problems?
