well we also have hormones that tell us to do other things we shouldn't (e.g. adultery); just because hormones say to do it doesn't make it right.

All religions have a savior, but Jesus is the only one not in a grave!

Actually, masturbation is a sin. The Bible says to treat your body as if it were a temple, and filling the temple with evil thoughts is a sin. Think about it for a minute, masturbating is wrong because of the thoughts that we have while we're doing it. I also hear a lot of people say that it is natural and healthy. Well if you have health problems that can be cured by ejaculation, I believe that is why God created wet dreams, which aren't a sin because you are not thinking the thoughts voluntarily. Anything where your thoughts are different from the will of God is a sin.

I believe that the key to stopping anything first would be your mind. Make up in your mind that your going to stop, that your going to resist the temptations of lust and follow the will of God. Ask God to give you strength to resist such lusts, and the wisdom to avoid anything that will entice you to masturbating.

I just want to include that I have struggled with the same problem for many years. Sometimes worse than one a day. I know the kind lady is trying to tell you that masterbation is ok and porn isn't but it really isn't the case. In my own experience, porn intrigues me to masterbate. It is through lust that these feelings come about, and it is truly on addiction. Even if it seems that your only after the feeling. If you are christian and want to know more about what the bible does say about these kind of things you should watch this on youtube

It really has helped me with my addiction. It not only talks about what the bible says about sexual things it also tells you the science behind what masterbastion can do to you. I have personally checked out the science that is presented and it is very real. Please watch this. I will be praying for you.

Your fellow sister in Christ.

I understand where everyone is coming from, yes the Church does view pornography as a sin as it is lust. However the Church does NOT demonize masturbation. They urge all of its people not to trivialize in it. I a about your age, and I share the same dilemma so far I have gone about close to 2 weeks without masturbation. Trust me you will feel terrible at first, but it feels so liberating not having to log on to the internet everywhere or use some bathroom to masturbate. The Church does not hate you, they do not want you to feel ostrasized, they want the complete opposite. Pornography can be very tempting and alluring, but don't fall for its' snares. If you want to quit cold turkey I commend you, that is no easy task, but I suggest a less drastic course of action.Try simply reducing it to once a week without pornography, then try to bring it once a month. Then eventually as time goes by you won't even need to trivialize into this sort of thing. Instead of going on the computer every waking moment logging on to some "site" try keeping yourself busy with sports you are a soccer fan right? Well good luck. Remember God ALWAYS loves you~

Just think about what you truly really enjoy (non sexually) as Christians we have all sinned in our lives every day but its considered lust is one of the seven deadly sins, which pornography might sound pleasing and not a bad thing but it is if it becomes an every day thing it's something to not to do or look at it before going on the website or even the computer think first is it pleasing to me should I really need it. if you want pornography to please you just think about it first. Porn is the worst thing that has ever existed on this earth trust me it's like cheating on your wife before knowing her which probably most people have seen porn but wait till marriage sex can wait.

It is not normal to masturbate because it is a sin against God and the bible, you should read in Colossians 3. you should also try to tell a good christian person you know to pray for you. I will be praying for you too.

So look, here's the deal. Masturbation is a natural urge, but the motives behind masturbation are not. That's why most Christians (full blooded, faith-driven 100% true christians) will tell you that masturbation is wrong. It's not because masturbation is a sin. it's because when you masturbate, you fill your entire mind with sexual fantasy. As you probably might know, that's wrong. As for stopping, pray about it. Work for it. Think of what jesus christ has done for you, and how you want show your love of him for what he's done. Refusing to give into this kind of sexual fantasy is a beautiful way to show that love.

Remember Philippians 4:13-- "I can do all things through christ who strengthens me"

God bless, from one christian to another. I'll be praying for you. I'm struggling, too.

Unfortunately, masturbation is sinful. You can argue that it is not full-blown sexual immorality, but it's pretty hard to claim it doesn't hint at it, and we are commanded to not even hint. (Ephesians 5:3) The first step to breaking the cycle is to tell someone. I am a ways down the road to freedom from my addiction, and so here are some of the things that helped me: 1. Find someone to keep you accountable. An adult is better than a peer, but I know it's hard to tell a grown-up, (I never could), and anyone (Christian) is better than no one. 2. Memorize 1 Corinthians 10:13. Remember that Jesus has conquered all sin, and that there is ALWAYS a way out, no matter how invisible it seems. 3. Whenever you find yourself in a potentially compromising situation, flee from it as fast as possible. This might mean not taking baths, not watching TV late at night, or stopping listening to songs with overtly sexual lyrics. Fight for your purity. Also, try to keep as busy as possible; if you can't find 10 minutes alone, then it won't be possible to masturbate. 4. Look at these srticles. I know they are for girls, but they are equally relevent to you, and they helped me a lot. http://www.liesyoungwomenbelieve.com/index.php?id=759 http://www.liesyoungwomenbelieve.com/index.php?id=761 http://www.liesyoungwomenbelieve.com/index.php?id=870 5. Pray constantly. A friend once explained constant prayer to me like this: if you had a guest in your home, you wouldn't leave her alone, so treat God like a guest in your heart. If you are constantly aware of His presence, it will be much harder to stray into sin. Good luck, I will be praying for you. You will most likely relapse at least a few times, but don't give up hope. Keep praying, and fighting this sin, and you will eventually be free of it.

u were right to tell him what u did. I hate religiousity. i am a spiritual woman. they do him more harm than good and would keep him from approaching his loving heavenly father by reason of their own ignorance of his grace.

@Maxmoser Tell someone irl. I know just how tough it is to admit to sin, but we are commanded to do so, and it WILL get you on the road to recovery. Also, try not to be alone. You can hardly touch yourself in a room full of people, so... Also, try to keep really busy, so that you don't have the time. If you do manage to be alone and bored, and your thoughts wander to sex, try to change your thought pattern as soon as possible. The longer you let it go on, the harder it will be to stop. Grab a Bible, and start reading it, and praying to God to keep you from this sin. You likely will relapse a few times on your road to recovery, but don't lose faith. If you truly want to be free of a sin, and you ask God to free you, you will be freed.

Bambi is a false teacher.

1. She says that she is 'of all religions'. (ie. buddhist at heart, etc)
Christianity is only one religion, your either in it or not.

Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you, for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.

-Deuteronomy 6:14-15

2. Porn (1st Part), biblically, is most definitely sin.
a) if you can masturbate without porn, then try. The Bible (which Bambi misreads) says,

Matt 5:28-29 (NIV) [Jesus:] But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

Eph 5:3 (NIV) But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.

1Th 4:2-8 (NIV) For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus. It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God... For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

b) Also, why are you here on this earth? Is masturbation pure? Can you do it in church? No.

The problem is that we want relief, and sin is the way. But if we agree in advance that the way of the faith must inevitably involve suffering, then we are truly living the gospel and have transferred out of the power of evil and into God's will.

Commit yourself to a certain amount of pain, and commit yourself not to sin in thought. We should not indulge our bodies, but we should "honor" them and learn to live in them properly in this sinful world. God has most definitely forbidden sinful thoughts that so often accompany masturbation, and for this we all need to die to self and commit ourselves to the fact that living holy in this world will involve pain.

Ro 6:13 (NIV) Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness.

Luke 14:28 (NIV) "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, 'This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.'"

1 Peter 4:1-2 (Wey) Since, then, Christ suffered in the flesh, you also must arm yourselves with a determination to do the same--because he who has suffered in the flesh has done with sin--that in the future you may spend the rest of your earthly lives, governed not by human passions, but by the will of God.

3. Don't go on sites like these, you may be wrongly persuaded. Read the Bible. Pray! Pray! Pray!
Jesus Christ came to forgive us and He will forgive you, however, do not take advantage of this!

Pray. Read. & Be in Peace.

-I will be praying for you and Bambi.
