Wooooooooooooah That SAME exact thing happened to me. I’m 19, quit about a year ago, obviously still feeling he effects since I’m here. But I had low potassium when I went to the hospital for pain in the left side of my chest going down my left arm and up the left side of my neck (it felt like my neck was tensing up) and they were confused and said only old people have potassium deficiencies and I was like... y’all are the doctors here, you’re supposed to be telling me what’s wrong

Same problems , I found that turmeric and garlic are amazingly good for your heart so I have been taking a spoon full of each in a shot of warm water and a spoon full of honey to take the horrid taste away everyday. Helps massively although it might be a physiological thing , who knows. I also was a heavy cocaine user for a long old time of 10 months , at one point I was snorting 1oz every two / three weeks until one night my heart felt like it was about to burst out my chest. I sweat to all the gods , new and old that I shall never do it again.

Wow, its been eye opening reading this forum and didn't realise there are so many other people that get the same issues as i've had recently with coke.

I'm 32 and been doing coke recreationally since early 20's. Typically going out in London on the weekends and then back at someones after party. I used to never have any problems apart from getting home at 7am and lying in bed with racing heart staring at the ceiling trying to sleep!

Anyway, a few years ago after a heavy day session snorting lines all day in Las Vegas, I went back to my hotel room and became super anxious and paranoid. I put on the TV but my focus went all over the place and my heart went into rapid beating and my arms started trembling...I nearly passed out and was trying to stop myself from doing so...I genuinely thought I was about to die or go into cardiac arrest - it was the worse experience of my life.

I stopped doing it for a while however as you know after a few drinks out in London town someone pulls it out and whilst I don't do lines only little key bumps here and there, I find that every time I do even a few bumps....by the end of the night when I get home alone, my hearts starts racing again, I get anxious and have had to call an ambulance in some cases.

ECG and all tests have come back OK but its horrible when you're experiencing it - I get a squeezing sensation on the left side of my chest as if a hand is over my heart pressuring it and shortness of breath and anxiousness.

I think the first time your brain/body experiences these issues, its something that will always eventually come back if you keep doing it. The more and more we push ourselves doing this devil drug the closer we get to heart attack, failure, problems etc etc..

I am done with it now and its the best decision i've made in 2017.

Good luck everyone

This is the first tine ive told anybody at all about the problem ive had with coke.
Ive been an occasional user since i was about 17. Im in my mid 30s now.
About a year ago i started working with a guy who could get probably the best stuff ive ever had. I over indulged of the xmas period. That turned into me doing a quarter to half a g a day for about the last year. 2 months ago it sttopped being fun. When i used to do it id get hot and sweat like hell and pee loads. I guess that was my kidneys getting rid of it. For the last 2 months id get lightheaded and my hands and feet would go really cold. I didnt have any euphoria and high effects. Id just feel anxious and light headed.
I knew then it had to stop. I managed to ween myself off of it coming up to this xmas. I stopped about a week before xmas. Then i had a little bump on 23rd. I had palpitations that night, a resting heart beat long after the come had worn off of 110 and blood pressure of 110/180. I went to a and e and they gave me an ecg and told me that i seemed fine but it may be stress and excitement. They told me i should go to see my gp asap. As it was xmas and i live near lots of old people the soonest appointment i could get was half way through jan.
I now get palpitations everyday where my heart skips a beat. I dont really have any pains as such but my left chest shoulder and arm feel much more sensitive then the right.
Im about 70% sure that the symptoms are due to anxiety but it scares me to death. Ive spent most of this morning crying. I havent even had anyone tell about any of this as if my wife found out shed leave me straight away.
One thing id like to know. Of all the people that have been to the doc and been told they are fine, how many of you told them about your coke use?

I told my doctor I had used coke a bit to make sure that he gave me the main tests for my heart. Over a 3-5month period I've had 3 EKGS, multiple blood tests, echodiagrams, xrays and they all came back good. If these tests are fine then overall your heart is working fine, however I have read that coke can cause spasms in the smaller arteries which these tests don't show, this can also heal over time from what I have read. My doctor personally thinks that isn't the case with me though. I also wore a 24hr heart monitor which also came back fine (when i wore this is was about 4months after this initial pains in my chest but still found nothing which is good). I believe the anxiety of knowing what coke can do and the thought of thinking you have done major damage makes it worse.

Deffo knowing the risks make you feel 10 times worst. Ignorance is definitely bliss. Was talking to one ofnthe old giys at work about palpitations and he said what ever you do dont google it.... Too late by then.

So I'm happy to give an update if it helps anyone. I have been to the doctor and all the tests have come back clear. I didnt do any coke for about 2 weeks and all symptoms went away completely. I have done a few halfs on weekends since then. Everytime I'm fine to start with but the symptoms come back after a few lines. Heres my idea of whats going on.
Coke obvs affects your heart when ever you do it. First time or 20th time.
As you get more paranoid about your useage you become more aware of what your body is doing. Now everytime you do it you sketch out. Whys my heart skipping, why have I got an ache in my left arm, why is my chest tight. Truth is it might have been like that even the first time you did it but you didnt care then. Now you notice everything you get anxious about it and guess what that does... makes it worst. Then you get to the point where everytime you do even a little key your expecting it to make you feel sh*t but you do it anyway cos its there. Think about it, If your an addict your tolerance is prob so high that, that little bump wont even register but its your head thats making your heart do backflips.
The Answer.
Well we all know the main one. Stop. But its not always that easy.
The other thing is, dont ever take it in the wrong frame of mind. If your waiting for the ill effects. dont do it. If you are having a heart attack you will know about it. You wont sit there thinking, am i having a heart attack. You'll drop. If you dont feel good its time to get a plan to stop.

Life is amazing. It doesnt have to be meaningful but it is what you make it and it can at least be fun. Reach out to someone. I guarantee that if someone is a decent person they will not turn their back on you they will help you.
Sorry for the rant but it helps me to write it

Weed DOES NOT SLOW YOUR HEART RATE. Go ahead and google “Does marijuana increase heart rate?” and see what it tells you. Do not spread misinformation that could get other people KILLED!!!!! I can’t believe anyone would be so careless as to distribute blatant mistruths like this when lives are on the line!!!!!

Hi guys, almost the same problem with me, i used stimulants occasionally, but it was my first time with coke one week ago, and after a night of doing it (not very much though) in the morning i felt like im having a heart attack, but i took xanax for it and it helped. Since then I'm having burning sensation (a little pain) in my chest, in the centre, and also heavy feeling to it. ECG seems fine, but as someone else said it here there is a study that shows that coke makes damage to smaller vessels in your heart that dont come out in regular exams. Somebody else said it can heal over time but i didnt read it in any article - can you link to it? I would like very much to believe that it can heal... Or maybe can someone say the simptoms went off with time? I know that ussualy when they do, people dont come to these kind of forums anymore, but still

I watched a video saying when they check your artiaries it seems like nothing is wrong sometimes but looking in depth at smaller vessels their is myofractiins at the micro level where the damage is done so need different screening test

Hi all!

Cocaine use can lead to a range of negative health consequences, including damage to the heart and cardiovascular system. One of the potential symptoms of cocaine use is chest pain or discomfort, which may be a sign of heart problems. Cocaine can cause a range of heart issues, including heart attacks, arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms), and cardiomyopathy (weakening of the heart muscle).

A friend of mine had problems similar to yours and was finally diagnosed with above mentioned cardiomyopathy. Luckily, he recovered by following all the doctor's orders.

In terms of recovery from cocaine use, treatment options may vary depending on the severity of your addiction and other individual factors. However, many people benefit from a combination of therapy, medication-assisted treatment, and support groups to address the underlying issues that led to their drug use and help them maintain long-term sobriety.
