Quote:My husband has been running almost daily for years. This morning after his work-out, his upper lip swelled up and he passed out several times. The paramedics were unable to read a blood pressure at our house. At the ER, they eventually got a normal blood pressure read: 113/74. His temp was 97 degrees. At first his hemoglobin test showed his blood was too thick and not moving enough. They gave him an IV which helped the hemoglobin a bit. But the biggest thing was that his white blood cell count went from 13000 at 7:30am to 18,000 at 10am. Also, his skin was yellow between his fingers.
The ER docs could not explain any of it. Tomorrow he is to see his regular doc for more tests. Right now he is sleeping - exhausted and still a bit dizzy.
Any ideas of what is going on?
i had a similar episode a few weeks ago. i collapsed and paramedics took me to hosp, my skin turned white, yellow, lips blue and when i regained conscious i had acute pain in my uterus, then a severe bleed and my white blood cells wer raised, which they have been sinc april 2010. Hosp were not too bothered and discharged me. nothing to do withmy blood was investigated even though i am prone to abscesses.
