I get this exact thing, I've been to the doctors about it several times. Iv had a chest scan and they still couldn't say what it is. I have had it for about 3 years now, it's extremely annoying and embarrassing. The balls are really jelly like, but are harder than regular phlegm. They're translucent with flecks of brownish coloured stuff in it. Im constantly clearing it from my chest, it is so tiring. I feel like it might be your body rejecting foreign substances from your chest. Or build up in the throat. But to me it feels like a chest problem, cause I cough quite a bit. Ive searched everywhere for answers, but instead I just find forums about people with similar symptoms.

For me it's in my nose. In anytime it comes and it's going back and forth through my nostrils. it requires force to remove them and when i look, it's so gelatinous without strong color and odor. Mushy and sticky.

I know what ur talking about. I have them to. Its coming from my lungs and its hard to breathe at night. I also have allergies and asthma. Ever since i got my puppy ive have phlegm... I think its from allergies. Kind of how when u have a cold you get greenish phlegm. But this type is clear because of slight runny nose and theres no infection. Im trying to control my allergies and hoping it goes away.

Sometime's people will develop asthma over the years or after inhaling something that irritates their lungs. I'm spruced no one has mentioned this the jelly balls are really common in asthma patients.

These balls, "perles" of Laennec, are mucous molds of the small bronchioles, and when unrolled are found to be spiral in form, known as Curschmann's spirals, he being the first to describe them.
