I have never had any allergies, and have no problems breathing at all. My chest x-rays always look great, yet I have these all of a sudden come up from my throat and they are very opaque faintly white or clear globs like caviar. Just like everyone else says. I've had them for years and no clue either to what they are. Wait! Just as I started writing this an idea popped up. I am on medications that make my throat dry. I have been on them for years. I wonder if maybe they form that way from a lack of fluid throughout the throat and nasal passages. Kind of what happens in the nose to mucus if it gets dry and becomes more "gummy" from lack of a better word. Anyone else have a correlation of dry throat or nasal passages when this happens?

They are not parasite eggs. You should not say that without seeing them. I and a lot of other people have what he is asking about and it has a perfectly reasonable explanation why the mucus forms into soft blobs that don't break open.

I’ve never smoked but grew up in household with them but still so I have same symptoms as you for the last year but getting worse an sometimes black is in it. I noticed that when I try to get tonsil stones out that makes me cough up atleast a cup full of thick slime jelly like mucus. I’ve been to two doctors and one of them put me on medicine for Gerd which I don’t think I have anything to do with what’s going on with me and they didn’t seem worried about the black streaks in the nucleus which made me feel even more so that they don’t know what’s going on because that’s just not right now I wish someone new

I read once that they were a side effect of some allergy medications such as montelukast. I used to take it daily and it wasnt till after i stopped taking it that i started coughing these up. Eventually it subsided, but if i take allergy medication the next few days ill have 1 or 2. And for the tonsil stones people. Mucus balls have no smell.

first of all if you're attempting to get tonsil stones out your irritating your tonsils and what will happen is your throat will coat itself with a thick phlegm that is clear. Swish with mouthwash prior to removing tonsil stones and that will stop the phlegm. If you have black stuff in that phlegm you've been around some cigarette smoke. a fellow bartender I used to work with used to clean her throat out every night due to cigarette smoke and said that it was clear phlegm with black streaks in it from the cigarette smoke. lookup Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. IPF. It's not serious like Cystic Fibrosis or Tuberculosis. It's a build-up of mucus from draining down from the sinuses. You just have to cough it up and out. (clear of whitish small balls of mucus). If it's yellow, green or red........go to the doctor immediately.

This person is 100% correct .....I have worms. I have the tapioca balls I cough up. I have been researching almost everyday for 2 years. It has to be connected with the worms. I have been fighting them for almost 2 years solid. It's incredibly hard to find any real pictures or info... seems like it's just hidden. On purpose. Cant tell me they dont know about worms. This makes sense since I cough these little ball/rice shaped mucus and still smoke. What may have caused the lungs to clean themselves while still smoking, is that I ditched process food and started eating only whole foods and lifting weights again, about 6/7 years ago.
