I went to my cardiologist yesterday and came back home somewhat confused. I have had a heart surgery and two bypass installed. Before the surgery I did not have any severe problems, only minor chest pain and shortness of breath. Yesterday I went for a regular EKG check, and my doctor asked me if I had a heart attack?! Could EKG be wrong? I know that I have not noticed my heart problems before the surgery, but I think that I would notice a heart attack.
Well, EKG is performed by a machine, which is man-made, so the error is possible. I have a friend whose friend worked in a programming company. He said that they once made a program for reading EKG. When they wanted to check its value on several dozens EKG readings, they asked couple of cardiologist to help them. It seems that the interpretations of the machine and human had many differences. It makes you wonder about certain things, don't you think?
Hi there, I don't know if a ECG can be wrong, but I know my whole family has cardiac problems and a ECG cant pick it up. Luckily my Cardiologist said I must come back if I feel so tired again. He then did an Angiogram and had to put 3 stents in my arteries.
