Hello, I have a macroadenoma on hypophisis (molecules of prolactin). I am 25 years old and the problem occurred two years ago, but it was discovered lately. It was manifested with strong headaches and the periods stopped for four months. Could macroadenoma be causing pressure headaches? I am so worried that this is a serious condition.
Macroadenomas are tumors that grow fast. Those are benign by its structure, but by their position they pressure the surrounding tissue and might lead to headaches. Second danger is that it can leave sella turcica and press the optical nerve, which might lead to damaged vision. It also affects menstrual cycles.
