hope that works
I've had cracking on my foreskin and some breaking of skin on the helmet itself now for a few months..had NO f'n clue what it was at first..went to a walk in clinic (Canada) and said it was balanitis. Got prescribed antiobotic cream and antiobic capsule-pills..didn't work tho! Not sure why. In the last week i've been trying Rick Simpson's hemp oil on it..it seems to have rejuvenated the skin a bit on the parts i've applied it to..Now trying the vinegar treatment that I see listed on page 2 that two people reported success with...
I've also tried Minactin spray a few times..not sure if it worked at all..it's a anti-fungal jock itch/athlete's foot cream.
I was reading this thread last nite..and the diagnosis of Thrush balanitis candida sounds exactly what i've got..finally got a name for it after several months...the post from guest on page 1 about how he just pulled back his foreksin and left it like that for 4 days sounds interesting to me..but it's very painful for me to do that...too painful that i say f**k it and just pull it back up..if my foreskin is retracted very painful, if it's up no pain.
Anyways, that's all for now..i'm very glad i found this thread..some very good ideas here i think.
One thing im concerned about, quite a bit, is pissing/urinating...ie. that they urine will go under the foreskin and further inflame the skin..at the moment, that's what i think the cause of my thrush is..that I had ejaculation and or urine behind the foreskin..and that i failed to pull it back to clean it for probably like 2 weeks..and a really bad case of thrush developed...so, what i'm trying now while urinating is drying it off with a paper towel immediately after to make sure that any urine doesn't slid underneath the foreskin......
My hypothesis is that urine contact with these cracked skin spots, destroys the healing and maintains the crackedness. What do you guys think? Should urine be prevented from coming in contact these cracked skin spots? and shud any urine be prevented from sliding under the foreskin and sitting ther?
Also is there any correlation between thrush and going commando? I started going commando one year ago..and i have a thrush condition at the moment..never had thrush in my life before..i'm wondering if maybe the contact of the jeans (vs. cotton boxers) is a lot rougher on the foreskin, and cracks in the skin started forming? I have no idea at this point..just a hypothesis...
also has anybody else tried vaseline petroleum jelly to help provide lubrication on the chafed/cut skin? i have..i think it for a lot of stuff..but i'm not certain whether it has been doing anything for this tho
Well it's been 3 days now since i've pulled the foreskin back and just left it there (ie. so helmet/head is exposed). It was very painful day 1 and 2..had trouble sleeping..i think the pain was coming from, tenderness + bruising + swelling on skin. The part that is swollen is the skin on the wall of the shaft that's just below the corona. It's fairly swollen, so i can't even get the foreskin up over it. When the foreskin is up, it doesn't/didn't go down normally (the skin of the shaft wall below the corona would roll up with it..possibly not good for it...ie. being stretched, and maybe pinched..tho it didn't feel painful? weird..)
On day 3 here, i think part of the reason the pain is down, is because i've been using pure white vinegar water mixture on it...the burning sensation from the yeast (..i guess), is much lower i think..before i started doing vinegar there was this random searing pain..which was the burning.
The main thing that is boggling me know is that the swelling on the shaft wall skin has not gone down one iota yet over these 3 days. How long could/would/should etc lol this take? I wonder if the blood vessels are swollen if this part of skin was stretched/pinched to some extent from being rolled up with the foreskin and maybe it will take at least a week for it to go down? i have no idea..i'll see what happens...
Also, i noticed there is one break/cut in the skin at the top-center base pretty much where the foreskin joins the shaft skin. I wonder if the swelling will commence it's withdrawal once this cut/break is healed up? I dunno, i'll see.
The problem i'm having now, is that some of the skin on the inside of the foreskin skin is eaten away..i'm not sure whtat's eating it away..is it urine that leaks urine the foreskin from taking a piss? After the first few days of putting the foreskin back up all the skin there was healing..not sure what is causing the breaks/eating away of it atm.
I had very similar symptoms, and I think I have found the fix. In my case, this has been going one for about 6 months. Every time I had sex, the skin would crack. Patches appeared red and dry with cracks that looked like paper cuts. I went to see a dermatologist who perscribed a desonide steroid cream. After applying the cream and abstaining from sex for a week or so, the symptoms would go away. However, the very first time I would have sex, the skin would crack again and I'd be back to applying the steroid cream or vaseline (that worked about as well).
After searching the internet, I came across a post by a doctor that recommended sunlight and air. I tried sitting next to an open window so that my penis was exposed to direct sunlight for 15-20 minutes each day for a couple of days. I kept the foreskin retracted as much as possible to keep it dry and exposed to air for a few days. My skin has responded remarkably well. It has more elasticity and the dry patches now appear almost completely gone. Sex recently was pain free with no skin issues.
It was a little painful to me, but maybe my condition wasn't as bad as yours. There were two patches of cracked skin. When the skin was pulled back and exposed, cracks in the skin opened up and you could see a little bit of moisture from the skin. After exposure to the sun and air, the patches dried and the cracks appeared to have fine scabs on them. In a few days, it was gone and my skin appeared more normal. I can still see a slight difference in the appearance of the skin where the patches were, so it is not 100% back to normal. Also, the first time I tried sunlight and air, the patches turned bright red. I was afraid that I had sunburned myself, but that went away the next day.
I am currently experiencing this. I am positive it is not a yeast infection or an STD. I believe it was caused by a ridiculously hot shower after hockey, on a very limp penis. The skin probably dried from the hot water, and cracked either due to an erection or simply pulling the foreskin back to pee while not completely limp as I was after hockey. Have tried polysporin and Vaseline, but I think as suggested avoiding erections and probably (unsanitarily) not pulling back to pee will allow the skin cracks to heal to the point they can be stretched again.
