So I realized some discomfort in between my legs, especially if I sat or layed down in certain positions.  Then I examined myself and noticed a small cut in a straight line right around my perineum, above my anal area.  I've been putting vaseline on it to help soothe it.

Here is some background info on me:

- I DO have extremely sensitive skin down there in my vaginal area.  I am very sensitive to cleansing products and am prone to frequent yeast infections.  I also tend to get random redness and itchness down there anyway, but if it's not a yeast infection, it will usually subside in a day or two. I only use baby shower gel down there and practice good hygiene.  My gyno doesn't even know what is going on with me down there or why.

- I also have frequent constipation.  I definitely have to drink over 2.5 liters of water to have a decent bowel movement.  Lately though, I admit I have been really bad about drinking enough water and have not been so vigilant of my diet (Fiber, fruit, etc).  So my bowel movements this past week were really effortful and painful.  (Is it possible that the cut is a result from the BMs?)

I have ordered some detox supplements from a holisitic wellness company which is said to aid in digestion and help fight candida  (hopefully this will combat both the issues).  I also started taking Culturelle probiotic capsules a few days ago.

But anyway back to the main question - does anyone know what the cause of the cut could be??  Would it be related to the first issue or second issue? Anyone have any experiences with similar issues and have had any successful treatment/cures?  Any feedback or insight would be appreciated!  Thank you!

Are you using commercial wipes (like Cottonelle) to clean yourself after bowel movements? Many hygiene wipes contain an ingredient (banned in Europe, but allowed in US!) that causes major skin irritation. I dealt with it for almost a year; was terrible. Online research helped me figure out the problem. Switched to using hypo-allergic baby wipes, which solved the problem, but those tend to be thick. They were not flushable, which was bad for home plumbing. Finally found a flushable adult wipe that did NOT have irritating ingredients ... Medline ReadyFlush Biodegradable wipes, which disintegrate in water. Every couple months, I order a case through Betty Mills Company. That has totally solved the problem; no more irritation!
