I have what feels like a cyst beside my clitoris. it just tripled in size over night and hurts like hell. I have had one before that went away on its own quickley. this one i have had for 3 days already and its growing. the skin on top of it is red and irritated. i felt like i got it because i sat at a door at the club i work in checking ids all night with my legs crossed. i felt like maybe its a blood clot... any ideas? it hurts like hell. even when nothing touches it.
im 19 years of age and started getting cyst at an early age. my cyst much like every other health occurance in my life are hereditary. about two to three years ago i developed a cyst on my clitoris i was experiencing a great deal of pain and sought out the help of my doctor. i described my symptoms and was put on medication for a yeast infection. a few days later the cyst was so big that i could not wear pants and missed almost a week from school, finally i let my mother examine the are being a nurse and ceased taking yeast meds. i returned to my doctor who was astonished at what was developing on my clitoris and had it drained. a few yrs went by and in the recent months i have had three or four on this very same spot !!!! :'( the pain is undesirable and the healing process is rough. i have trouble sleeping and functioning in general. the worst part is (due to the healing process i would assume) the pain is also partnered up with itching and irratation. im not sure what to do at this point ... sure they pop on their own but the fact that they are reoccuring so close together concerns me.... i guess im just interrested to know what others have found effective in dealing with similar issues! oh also as of late there has been no puss just blood???
oh btw ps sammyjohobnuts i can assure you it is not a blood clot. i have spoken to my mother frequently about these cyst although she has never had one there she does get them and is a nurse. she informed me that quite often cyst are formed by in grown hairs, or form in areas that are not getting O2 so it is likely that by crossing your legs all night it cut of o2 to that particular area or the mass amounts of sweating that may have occurred caused the infection. dont quote me on that, it's just an inference. you should certainly seek medical attention to be sure. however i know that i often get cyst under my armpits as well and was informed that both my persperation and deorderant were a contributing factor as the glands became blocked.
Yes i know what you mean, i suffer from re-occurant cysts forming in my clit hood, whenever i wear tight jeans or clothing it gets inflamed and swells up, then goes down within a couple of days. One time i got really bad so i went to my GUM clinic and was referred to the gyno at the local hospital, they couldnt really explain it and said it would go down on its own, they gave my antibiotics and painkillers but didnt do much. When u have a hot bath it can pop and drain itself if u give it a gental squeeze.
Hi All
I had one just appear this evening. I immediately boiled water in the kettle and for 3 hours kept a hot, clean wash cloth on the area, and the gland reabsorbed the inflammation and, 5 hours later it is gone. I hope it will be still gone in the morning but keep the hot water to it. It does help. Helped 7 years ago when I had it last time. Hope this helps.

ok.....I have lived with this for near 25 years. It is not an ingrown hair, it is an infection of some sort. I went to the doctors when I was 16 with a golf ball size cyst on my clyt. The doctor wanted to remove my clytoris. OMG! Mom said lets get a second opinion. He decided to make a cut so it could drain. It worked for a while but came back probally 50 times since then. I sit in a hot tub and apply pressure and its gone in a week. I didnt mention I was in a wheel chair many times during outbreaks. It has gotten so big I cant sit. I went to Doctor to see if there was another way to treat it, he invited 10 of his friends in the room to observe. Needless to say no one had an answer. I am 41 now and yes it still occurs but it gets better. Now when I have my period......It bleeds where there they made the cut. WTF
I have this problem too. I had a reoccuring one next to my clitoris which would flare up for the past 5 years or so maybe once a year; the doctor finally stitched open the cyst wall and let it heal inside out so that the cyst would fill in however a new one has replaced the old one over the clitoris now. Ridiculously frustrating. Sitz baths help as well as wearing loose clothing. Not much else can be done because of the location of the cyst without potential damage to the nerves in that area. Glad to see I'm not alone in this problem.
I too get this strange cyst next to my clitoris from time to time. I'm a cyclist, I tend to get cyst flare ups when I start doing more hours than normal or I spend a lot of time on my time trial bike. It makes the next couple of weeks on the bike rather uncomfortable, sometimes impossible. I've heard from doctors that a warm compress works well, as others have said here.
I have had the same issue. I believe it is a bartholin cyst that has absessed. You probably always have the cyst and certain things can cause it to get infected.
In the past, i have found that when it first starts forming a hot bath + neosporin ointment helps.
There is a procedure that can prevent them from re-occuring. It is described here:

If you don't mind, can you please describe the cyst because I have a cyst like lump/bump about the size of a pea on or near my clitoris and it is very pinkish/red and it seemed to come out of nowhere and it is now starting to itch and when I sit I can feel it.
I have the exact same thing...omg I feel so relieved im not the only one...so I have a question? is using a warm cloth or have a hot bath actually help the infection or is it just temporary...mine is about the size of a pea and is starting to look like a bubble...I wanna pop it but will that hurt? should I maybe see a doctor first about this??? and will it go away?
my friend had cysts in her vagina and had to go minor surgery... she felt a thousand times better after though. she was in a lot of pain
I have the same thing reoccuring every month when I have my period. I had it removed at one point and they stopped for about 3 years... now they are back again...
Painful is an understatement. It is about 2 inches long by 1 inch wide. It is now bright red and starting to get purple. Unfortunately, it is behind scar tissue. Has anyone ever found out from their DR what causes it?

just want to share some tips.. try to use gyne pro.. it is like lactacid.. but gyne pro is for inflames. etc.. try this one.. twice a day.. for JUST A WEEK. use gyne if u have periods. hope this will help you guys. :-)
I was diagnosed with a clitoral cyst this morning and given antibiotics and pain killers. Being in the medical field I was compelled to demand an explanation. My DR told me that these can happen when bacteria enters a cut or scrape. They can also be caused by friction. So if you cut yourself shaving or an in-grown hair, or anything that would allow bacteria in you chance getting a cyst. They aren't uncommon and can go away. I have found that a bath with epsom salt helps. Not sure if it's the idea of the bath or the salts that actually help. Maybe both.
It is nice to know I'm not alone in this hell-ish pain.
