omg, i have been getting these cysts for a long time. i know when they are coming, when i wipe myself after peeing, its a little pea sized cyst, it doesnt hurt right away, but within a couple of days, its the size of a golf ball. it is always in the same place, its on the lip of the clitoris, and its hurts so bad, im in tears. doctors have know clue, its been said that its ingrown hair, but theres no hair on the clit, i think its a clogged pore, and like someone said earlier in this discussion, that not getting air or not cleaning yourself properly is some possible causes, and that hot compresses, hot baths with epson salt(that works well, but you have to do it a couple of times) and when i say hot baths, i mean it(you know a tolerable hot) im very over weight, so i always chalked it off as my skin pinching itself from sitting to long. but its much more then that. your hygene has to be on point. now i get cysts on my inner thighs, but those are different, those have blood in them, and those are the ones i do believe that i get from sitting to long. the ones on my clit, when they pop/drain its all puss, and its like death rolled out of it. now if your a gyn lookin at it, i always used to get it on the right side, but i was in a hospital out of state, and they lanced it, and put a balloon type thing in side the hole they lanced, so it would heal from the inside out, i have never got it again there, now its on the left side, and noone(doctors) knows how to do the lanceing, so i would tell them, and they look at me like i have 4 heads, like they werent going to take medical advice from a patient. but obviously i do know what im talking about, because i have more knowledge then them.....i also get phlidel cysts on the top of the crack of my ass, i havent had that in yrs, because the doctor that did it lanced it, and put a sterile gause in it(that hurt).....i was told that my granmother had these same symptoms(the cysts on clit) and eventuly she was told to go to a better hospital, that she might have or she had cancer, 2 days later she dies at 56 of a heartattack... so know im wondering if this is heretery, well im will go to the gyno and find out....well good luck to everyone, and happy hygene

I have a cyst near my clitoris that keeps changing colour (from pink to red to purple). I've had it for at least 4 months. I didn't want to pop it because of a possible infection. At one point I could almost see a yellow puss inside it. Has anyone experienced this?

I also have this same problem!! I had emergency surgery about 3 yrs ago after laying in pain for 6 days in the Hospital with no answers. They finaly saw what I had thru a 3rd CT Scan. The pain was horrific & even the strongest pain killers the hospital could give me didnt help at times. After surgery was bad, extremely painful. Dare I sa they pack you full of gauze down tere & then have to pull it off!!|-O

Now, after 3 yrs, it's back!! We tried strong antibiotics 2x but they didnt work. My Gyno said to only come back if it gets as bad as it was the 1st time. Im afraid of letting it go until that point though because I was unable to walk or move. I basically had to be carried into the ambulance, after my husband found me doubled over on our bathroom floor screaming in pain, unable to walk...not knowing what was wrong with me at that point, he called 911. I dont want to go thru that same tramatic situation. Im planning on dealing with this head on next month with another surgery. If anyone out there has better advice, please let me know. Also, is it better to see a Cliteral Specialist or just my regular Gyno that preformed the surgery the 1st time? I am scared but I have no choice, surgery is the only answer. :'(

i am 14 and has never had sex or had alcohol or anything. I noticed 4 days ago a small lump at peak of clitoris and im really really worried as my friend had one which turned out to be cancer related. I really don't know if it is a cyst or anything but its pea sized maybe smaller, it has made the remaining top area very red and itchy and very hard for me to ignore. I'm in alot of pain and do not want to go to doctor as im scared to show them (being 14 i wouldnt show anyone) which is why i have come onto here. Please someone help !!!

Hi, Im the one that posted above you (3 months ago).

Go get help honey. Those Doctors see things like this all the time. There is nothing to be embarrassed about. I remember when I was 15 & my 1st time to the gyno I was so embarrassed - a virgin - didn't want anyone looking down there...that's a normal feeling but this needs looked at. It sounds similair to what I had. I had a clitoral cyst that I needed surgery on (2x) to remove it. I will tell you this...if you do not get seen soon that small bump will turn into a large one & you will be rushed to the ER!! Trust me. I ended up calling 911 for mine, before Drs knew what it was, they sent me home in pain that I could not stand any longer. They finally discovered it was a staff-infected cyst inside my clitoral duct. Please get help now before the pain gets so bad you can't stand it. It's more embarrassing to wait & have to call 911 and tell the netire ambulance crew the problem. PS: If that happens, tell them you need to speak with a woman alone & it is personal. Comment back if you need to talk, you are not alone.

This is Jenny that has written on 3/11/2012 at 10:37 pm.

I made a mistake, it is ALUM, not gypsum.   Please use ALUM in the prior message that I wrote and used the word gypsum there.  It is ALUM  not gypsum.  use alum and salt, bring it to a boil then apply it.     remember  ALUM, not gypsum  .

below is the message i posted earlier but have it corrected.  I used alum, which is correct and deleted where i have put gypsum, I remembered the wrong name of the element earlier that is why.  So, the correct item is alum, not gypsum.

This advice was given from my uncle to help alleviate the pain from this. Boil drinking water, put some salt in it, and put alum in it to boil. alum is normamally sold in oriental stores. It comes in like one huge chunk of clear see thru rock. cut the alum open from its bag and rinse it, then put it into the boiling water along with the salt when it is boiling. He said to do it like this bring it to a boil then let it cool off a little bit and pour it in a basket, bucket or pail, as along as it is in something that you can soak your bottoms in their. I did not want to soak my bottoms. So, I only used about one or half of one cup of water and use about one table spoon of salt, then after rinsing the alum, I put the alum in the boiling water. Since I only used about one or half cup of water, i did not let the alum melt completely the whole chunk of it. I let it melt the gypsum until i see it in in proportionate with the amount of salt I use, can use alum  a little bit more than salt. Once I see the alum has melt enough to the desired amount i think is good enough. take a metal spoon and extract the remaining chunk of gypsum that has not melt ( the chunk) and save it for later or next day use. After it is boiling to a good rate, I turned off the fire and let it cool a little bit, and use cotton balls, dip it into the mixed solution and apply it on cyst area on the clitoris. It is really good for it, it reduces my pain drastically and i can walk much better. The swelling decreased, and it is not as painful to touch toilet paper the next day when I wake up after doing that procedure last night. Actually, the next morning i see it has and opening, I guessed it is creating a soft spot naturally and not as painfully for that puss in there, I guess eventually my mother has to squeeze the puss in there out for me, but not now, it is not ripened or soft enough. But, totally, keep dipping that cotton ball in that cooked solution and apply it on the area, hold each cottonball in place there for about one or two minute then throw that cottonball away and use another cottonball, repeat this untill the solution is finished. It helps tremendously, I have taken the yeast pill perscribed by my doctor and it is not going away or doing anything to help the pain. But, this process above that i mentioned is a highly recommend for those in pain, i know, I was there. This is a solution to the pain and it works for me. I don't guaranteed nor or responsible if the results could be repeated on someone else that does not produce the results like it did for me. but, i just want to put it out there for those who are in desperate pain and would try something to help it. mom was too afraid of me going into surgery so we asked family members, and this tip was shared to us.

This is Jenny.  Use alum and salt, and water, bring it to a boil.  Let it cool a little then apply on that area.  I did it for two days straight and the third day it is gone.  no more cyst on my clitoris and no more pain

Can I just say if all you young teens have a pea or smaller sized lump on your erm erm that's normal..If it swells goes red purple and starts to hurt then maybe a trip to the dr is needed (Oh it's normal if your excited) but any sorness, unusual difference in your discharge is always best to get checked by Dr. but yes as soon as you get a sore swelling through shaving or just an owie, well to be honest a hot compress with salt water will help

I'm not a teen, I'm in my late 30's and no "hot compress" was working for me. I needed surgery on mine 2x. It's NOT normal, get checked immediately. Mine was filled with STAPH infection, as most are and needed removed asap. I was also in danger of the staph infection getting into my blood stream. This is no joke, this is a serious issue & very-very painful. Way worse than labor or kidney stones, trust me - I would know!!

I've had the cyst occur on my clittoris 3 times in the past 2 years and number 4 is about to pop up. But unlike some others, mine never get too big which is a good thing, but the bad thing is that the pain can still be unbearable at times! Last time I had one, it got to a point where i couldn't walk or even sit, but because I'm too proud to seek help from anyone, I just grit my teeth and got through it. I just want to say thank you to everyone who wrote something about there experiences and tips to help ease the pain and get rid of then quicker. Also last time I had one, I still had no idea how to treat it, so I ended up putting a sh*t load of savlon cream on it at night and in the morning it had popped.

I want to thank each and every one of you who posted here. This is not an easy subject to talk about with just anyone. I had an uncomfortable lump, same area as the rest of you, that i started noticing during my daily bike ride. It was just a slightly painful lump at first. The next 2 days it remained a lump but became much more painful. I called for a appt. with my dr (Midwives) Fri afternoon but they closed 'til Monday. Ibuprofen took the edge off. Thanks to your posts I was able to treat myself. I took a sitz bath with Epsom salt. Afterwards a head formed. Another 1/2 day with even more pain, then it popped. I would not want to experience more than a week nor "golf ball" size lumps. Hopefully it doesn't return.

Hi everybody! I'm now on cyst #2 in the past year. I went to see the gyno today who told me she had NEVER seen or HEARD of this before and sent me to have blood drawn to test for Herpes! Is she serious?!! I guess I'm on my own once again... if they didn't learn about it in med school, it must not exist, right? I dream of the day when this comes to a head so I CAN drain it. In my experience, draining it alleviates the swelling and most of the pain. You've GOT to keep the area clean though throughout the process! Wear loose fitting clothes and no underwear whenever possible to help keep the area cool and dry. Cotton panties are best as they breathe and keep the "garden" trimmed as best you can. Hygiene is key!
This ridiculous woman gave me a prescription for a topical anti-inflammatory to "get me by" - but she's expecting my blood tests to come back positive for Herpes. What a jerk. Thanks to everyone who shared their stories; you're certainly not alone and it seems sometimes we've just got to trust our own instincts and the experiences of others to get through things like this. Too bad I wasted $30 on a copay...

I am so relieved that there are other people out there that have the same problem, I developed my cyst on the hood of my clitorus when I was about 19. Went to the hospital because it had become very swollen and inflamed and I couldn't even walk properly, they sent me home without a diagnoses and just said if it starts to bleed come back... It did start to bleed and when I went back they said it was an abcess about to burst, so they made an incision to drain it but couldn't get it all.

I am now going on 51 years of age, it still flares up every now and again and I just have to squeeze it to drain it myself, in fear that it will swell up so large again, I have been to a few doctors about it and have come away with no reseloution so I have given up going to doctors about it and have just learned to live with it, but it has interfered with my sex drive and intimate relations as I find it just makes it flare up again.
