As it stands I have had indigestion or heart burn every day for the last week and a half. The problems didn't start there though, they started in November of 2008. One day I had a throbbing pain in the middle of my chest so bad that I had to go an immediately see a doctor. The doctor did an EKG and then proceeded to press on my stomach and sides asking if it hurt and it did hurt when he pushed on the middle of my stomach so then he gave me some kind of green liquid to subdue the pain and informed me that I have a stomach ulcer. The medication he subscribed was a Proton Pump Inhibitor and an antibiotic, amoxcilin. I took all of the PPI medicine but only about 1/3 of the antibiotics because honestly I read that they give you black stools and I was afraid to keep taking them. I only recall having a black stool once when I wasn't taking the antibiotics if that helps any. A few months later in March or April I started having heart burn in the left side of my chest around where my heart is and it progressively stressed me out and I was scared for my life so in the beginning of May I couldn't take the stress anymore and went to the hospital. I told the doctors everything i'm telling you here and then they proceeded to take 2 blood tests, and a few x-rays. I was told to take an over the counter proton pump inhibitor, I don't recall the name of it but it had a purple looking box and I believe it started with a X. For the two weeks I was taking it I felt perfectly fine but a week ago after I stopped taking the medication as prescribed I started getting this pain in my chest every day, it felt like I was constantly hungry and I had to keep eating or take an antacid to make it stop. 2 days ago I stopped getting this weird pain and now instead it feels like the middle of my chest is burning right between the breasts. I'm hoping someone can help me and tell me what is going on. I don't have cancer on either side of my family but sometimes my mind wanders. I was informed that considering my condition at the hospital they probably checked for cancer but I don't know how I can be sure.

To help give you a better idea of my condition..
I smoke a pack and a half a day.
I'm morbidly obese.
The only other pains I have had are muscle spasms or back pain.
I've not lost weight unexpectdly but I have lost and gained some weight from simply being stressed out and I just can't eat.
Sometimes it does feel like some nasty liquid is in my throat but I don't regurgitate it.
I have regurgitated some nasty liquid before however a few times a few years ago.
I do need to belch sometimes quite often.
I haven't been nausiated.
I'm a 26 year old male.

I can't keep living like this but the doctors appointment set up by the hospital is for August. I don't know if I can keep it together until then. I don't have the luxury of medicare and so I must pay the full bill if I go to your every day doctor. The hospital I went to was a university hospital so of course i'm trying to get my health taken care of for free and of course that means I can't afford to see a regular doctor. There is a university bus that sees patients every week on thursdays for no pay but I can't get that day off and besides what can they really tell me on a bus? Infact i'm a bit doubtful anyone can help me here with a diagnosis or some information that would put my fears to rest. I want to make my life better if at all possible but i'm losing hope.
Just to clarify, the pain that felt like it was near my heart has ceased and it feels now like it has taken up a new space to continue stressing me out by moving to the middle of my chest.
