Tonight I noticed that my boyfriend has these rashes on both sides of his upper torso that are dark red. It almost looks like what happens to your skin if you keep scratching and you get those little red dots. They are not raised at all, just feels like normal skin, and are not painful or itchy. I didn't get a picture of them but I found one that is similar..

Any idea what they could be?
