Let me just start off by saying I never thought I'd ever want to get off suboxone when I first started. The first year I felt as if it made everything better. About a year and half in I tried to detox but not really.. I just wanted to see how it would be.. After the 3rd day I relapsed because I had access too. If you really want to detox you have to make sure you do not have any subs in reachable access. Being prepared for the insomnia and cramps is vital. Don't try and abuse OTC sleeping pills. It won't work in fact it will make you feel more sluggish. The first 3 days were the worst when it comes to feeling sluggish, light headed, dealing with the leg restlessness, and insomnia. Being on day 6 I can honestly say have no energy what so ever.. But the physical pain is behind me (I hope) now it's just getting over the cold like symptoms and insomnia. It's very important to stay positive. Listening to music and Attending AA and NA meeting helped me greatly the first few days while still attending. Lifts your spirits and you realize how much worse you can have it. I see light at the end of the tunnel and there is no turning back at this point. Positivity is key.
