I was diagnosed with DISH this year. It is on my spine located between my sholder blades.
I now have pain from my sholder to my collar bone.
What I would like to know is how fast does the condition affects other parts of my body.

DISH is characterized by excessive bone growth along the sides of the vertebrae of the spine, and the prognosis is that DISH tends to progress and worsen over time but that does not necessarily mean that your pain will worsen and your function will deteriorate. Doctors are usually advised to follow the principle of minimizing pain and maximizing function, but the fact remains that that DISH syndrome is systemic disease that can't be completely cured. The rate in which the disease progresses and what will it look like also depends on phase in which disease was discovered and the state of your general health.
When you have DISH, is swallowing a problem? I have a problem with it. Thank you.
