I have had at least 3 things happen today, that they people acted like it was the end of the world or something, and you know what, it wasn't.
I can almost see why people fall in behind people like David Koresh as an example. You don't have to deal with all the insanity of everyone, just the insanity of one.
Some ladies group was setting up in the gym this afternoon for a "guest night" (whatever that is), and they didn't tell me about it. So, when I came in with my 1st grade PE class, no one knew what to do. Outdoors is out, because of yesterday's snowfall.
The principal came running over apoligizing that he should have let me know (what that he screwed up, and should not have let them do this until after my class?), he looked almost bewildered and incredulous that I just took the kids to my classroom, and we watched a jumprope video. He couldn't believe I was "flexible" enough to do that at the drop of a hat.
(BTW...this is the same guy who was "preaching" about following the content standards, how everything needed to be based on them. Funny how he's now thankful I am able to "not follow the plan".)
If this had been another teacher(besides me :D ), the c**p would have hit the fan, and so hard, it would have demolished the stinking fan.
Anyway, sometimes I wanna take my kids to the middle of nowhere, and let none of the crazy people near them. And then I realize they'd never be able to function in this world.
