Hi
I having the same symptoms like you, I'm taking Depo for 1 year and a half and having heartburn, acid on my stomach, pain on my upper abdomen.
I already do a endoscopy, scan, blood eexames and still exams and nothing it's found.
I Am taking omeprazole but it's not helping
I think it's because of the injection because this start on my second shot and when they reduce the intervals between then to ten weeks because of spotting.
the doctors said that it's a coincidence but I don't believe in them.
I know this post it's old but how do u fix this pls

I was 49 when I was put on the depo shot in the hospital. I am perimenopausal and before being put on the shot, I was rushed to the hospital after losing 3 pints of blood which lead to a heart attack. Here I am 3 years later and my new doctor wants to take me off the depo. Reading everything I've read here and other places has me terrified. I almost died once and I don't want a repeat of another heart attack, or another serious bleeding episode. I've asked numerous questions of more than one healthcare "professional" and I can't get a straight answer. Is there any alternative to coming off the depo, cold-turkey? I would think that there is something that can be done; GNRH, or some other medication that could be used to lessen the effects of coming off this shot. This really is nightmarish and I can't believe that not one doctor or nurse told me anything about the risks and they were only concerned about getting the bleeding to stop so they could do a heart surgery but did nothing more to address the issue that caused the heart attack in the first place. I have tested negative for every form of female reproductive cancer and my ultrasounds are normal. Good luck to everyone on this forum.

Hello there my name is Lisa I have currently been off depo for 3 months, after about 10-15 years on it.

I am experiencing all sorts of symptoms , back pain which is unbearable, bone pain, boob pain, fatigue, anxiety, itchyness, headaches, I have even managed to pull 3 lots of muscles in my chest area since coming of it which makes me think I have gotten the bone loss part.

I have contacted my GP and they weren't interested they made no effort to help me in anyway. I think and feel like I am about to start bleeding again within next couple of months.

I am in so much pain in my lower back though I have tried everything I walk everywhere my work place is quite physical too. I will never be going back on the injection. I hope all my symptoms pass soon.

OMG I'm glad I came across your post. I was in the ER two days ago because I've been extremely nauseous for a week straight sharp shooting pains in my stomach and my breasts are beyond sore and my stomach is bloated. I thought I had Crohn's disease or some kind of cancer until I talk to my OBGYN and they said my shot was due December and I missed it. I'm still not sure I'm just having side effects from not getting a depo shot or something else is really wrong with my body but I've been a nervous wreck and I can't sleep at all. Someone please let me know I'm not alone.

Hi I was on the depo for about 2ish years and I just stopped taking it within the month my last depo was suppose to be June 20th I think it was around there but for almost 2 months I've had wicked acid reflux which made my middle below my ribs hurt, my left side hurt under my ribs and I've has chest pressure from the acid reflux... I've tried pepcid which 3 days into taking it made me feel like c**p, I took omeprazole for 3 or 4 days same thing made me feel like c**p.. I went to the ER 2 weeks in a row for pain cuz I didn't know what was going on.. first trip they only did bloodwork an found nothing I also told them I just got off the depo and thought maybe it could make me feel this way.. they say nothing about it its almost like they ignore what I said or have nothing to say about it... they told me I was just having acid reflux try over the counter meds that's where the pepcid came in which didn't help me it's hard to take a med that's making you feel like c**p.. 2nd ER trip went in for pain again this time they did a EKG found nothing, they did a chest XRay found nothing wrong... then did a pee and blood test not pregnant and my blood count is normal my stuff like glucose and a few others were off cuz I was dehydrated since I've felt like c**p I haven't ate much or drank much I've tried.. but yet again they said it was acid reflux.. like wtf they gave me sucralfate to take 4 times a day for 10 days and that stuff sucks too took it for a few days I felt weak, wasn't hardly eating still so day #2 not taking anything I woke up felt like c**p ate some toast with peanut butter still felt like c**p ate some chicken noodle soup still felt like c**p a little.. if my bloowork is good, my chest XRay is good my heart is good I'm not pregnant what is going on with my body???? I'm not having my period yet it hasn't came back yet my boobs are slightly tender but not bad I just don't feel normal... I also don't have an appointment with my primary care doctor till July 28th can anyone tell me what's going one with me I'm freaking out......

I’ve been on the depo shot for 4 years now! My last shot was due 6 days ago but I didn’t get it because I knew it was messing with my body. I want to have a period and get my hormones back to normal before my partner and I start trying to make a family. Anyway, I’ve noticed that my nipples (not my whole breast) are really tender and sensitive. I also have headaches throughout the day that I can’t seem to get rid of. I am expecting much worse but this is what I’ve been dealing with so far. Being a woman is hard work lol!

I’ve been on the depo for most of my life I had no issues until 2019. When they brought Pfizer in ever since then I’ve been having bad symptoms of stomach pains ,bladder problems , unable to sleep, feeling sick and being sick. I had to change my diet I couldn’t eat dairy or pork cause it would affect my bladder so I wouldn’t need to pee a lot but sadly once the depo wore off the side effects kicked in. From December to now the bladder problem got worse. I’ve not been able to travel or leave the house for more than 6 months. The stomach pains got worse I started bleeding but it wasn’t period. My lower abdomen was bleeding in such bad pain. I had multiple trips to the doctors had urine testing nothing even had a blood test and still nothing but then they can’t pick up side effects. My body can’t take any medication for the problems cause I vomit them back up again. I spoke to my doctor and all I got was you have (overactive bladder syndrome) I don’t believe that cause the peeing got worse. I had to sleep with towels underneath my lower half and with legging too. For the past 7 months of getting off the depo it’s turned me into a hermit. Because I can not leave the house without peeing and we are supposed to go away at the end of the month.
