do men get bacterial infections too

Four years ago a partner had an infection after we spent a weekend together. He had not had sex for three years. I had had three partners in 30 years. I tested all clear. I recently tested positive for a BV infection which the doctor assured me was not an STD and prescribed the usual anti biotice gel.

So what infection could he have had? He is on several meds for epilepsy, diabetes and anti d's I think.

Yeast Infections Yeast Infections (vulvovaginal candidiasis) are a common cause of vaginal irritation (or vaginitis) and usually result in itching, burning and irritation typically without an odorous discharge. Vaginal discharge is not always present, but can be a thick, whitish-gray discharge often described as being cottage-cheese like in nature. Most male partners of women with yeast infections do not experience any symptoms, however, a transient rash and burning sensation of the penis has been reported after intercourse if a condom was not used.

I think your doctor told you which bacteria have been found by you? Of course, in case of a STD, both partners shall ask for medical help immediately!

Men can and do contract BV and spread it, i know cause i have it, and if not treated you will get the bad bacteria back. A male doesn't have to show signs that they have anything but they can still have the bacteria, unfortunately i have the signs.

It makes me angry when they say men don't need to get treated. Commonsense tell you that if vaginal fluids are healthy and not bothersome before exposure to men then duh, it is the men causing all the infections. Now I leave em all alone. You will never a variety of antibiotics to clean up your system and when you get to a point of all symptoms clear keep your body to yourself. Men are nasty, or just people in general. Yuck..Too many germs being shared out there. Get a sex toy instead..lol!

Melly: When you have sex without a condom bare to bare skin, the penis can actually get rid of good bacteria, BV, is an unstable amount of good vs bad bacteria in the vagina, unprotected sex with it's friction and bodily acids can cause the good and bacteria to be rid of, then giving the bad bacteria the chance to flourish. It is a very long process and it is very annoying to get rid of. Everything doctors prescribe does not help me. I just go back and forth between yeast and bv.
