Hi, I have recently entered a relationship. Everything was going great until two days ago. My girlfriend and I started to talk about S&M. I thought she was going to agree with me that this is not normal behavior and that it is brutal, but instead it turned out she doesn't feel the same way. In fact, she said that she would have anything against little bondage. This came as a shock since I don't know anyone who likes S&M. Do you think S&M is brutal? Should I continue to date this girl?
Hi, sadism and masochism is a sexual behavior that some people find pleasurable. Looking at it from a biological point of view the hormones that are released when we feel pain and pleasure are the same. This would scientifically explain why some people find pleasure in inflicting or causing pain. Actually, very often one person enjoys being on both sides. But, this is not everybody's cup of tea. Some people, like you do not approve of this. Nevertheless, you shouldn't be so judgmental towards your girlfriend. Every person has the right to choose for themselves what they find appealing. You can only accept this or not. You shouldn't ask me to say if S&M is all right or not. Even less, I cannot tell you if you should continue to see your girlfriend. This decision is solely up to you.
