That's funny, I am 62, smoke marijuana daily, for 47 years. I get very little exercise & while
I could eat better, I do keep my caloric intake @2000 per day. Anyway, it's "funny" because
for years my cholesterol levels were just the opposite. My doc can't believe his eyes
HDL(Good) 157
LDL(BAD) 29 I came upon your post when I Goggled " Marijuana and Good cholesterol"
to see if there is any connection. Just proves it's all in the genes, I guess. I really don't believe Marijuana
has any effect whatsoever on cholesterol levels-Good Luck!

I am a 59 year old male. I did not use any drugs, alcohol, or tobacco until I was diagnosed with Glaucoma and started using Marijuana edibles. Over the next year and a half my cholesterol dropped from 275 total down to 208. It has been twenty years since my cholesterol was this level. I was recently laid off from a job and stopped using incase I had to take a drug test. In two months my cholesterol zoomed back up to 265. (Sorry, I don't remember LDL levels) Marijuana has been amazing for me. I helps lower meds for high blood pressure, fixes my cholesterol, helps with eye pressure for glaucoma, reduces some pain from arthritis in my fingers, and helps me to get 8 hours of sleep a night rather than the 5-6 I get without it. I cant tolerate statins to lower cholesterol so Marijuana has been amazing. I am going to have to start again soon before the cholesterol causes issues. I have been working with my doctor on this and have test results from a few months back and a test just taken this week. Which is why I went searching.

What if the tests just aren't smart enough to distinguish THC and/ or CBD as their own substances? Perhaps the tests read these active ingredients as fat tissue since THC is fat soluble. Most regular smokers have around 5ng/ml of THC in their blood at any given time, high or not. Upwards of 40-50ng/ml, sometimes higher, when one is actually stoned. That could throw off the tests significantly. Then again maybe not lol.

I'm 22 and my cholesterol is 335. My cardiologist said I have the same cholesterol as a 80 year old man that sits on the couch and eats chips everyday. I live a super healthy lifestyle and workout 6 days a week. Before being tested I actually had a diet coach, so my diet was and is very clean. With that being said... I smoke everyday just about. When I brought it up to my cardiologist he said it wouldn't have any effect. In most cases high cholesterol is hereditary. Don't know how truthful that is but that's what I was told.

Heavy smoker for 18 years. Extremely low LDL levels. My guess is that your high levels are genetic. Diet and exercise can only do so much in the face of your genes.

THC moves from your lungs into your bloodstream and throughout your body. Within minutes, your heart rate may increase by 20 to 50 beats per minute, according to the NIDA. That rapid heartbeat can continue for up to three hours. For people with heart disease, this faster heartbeat could raise the risk of heart attack.
