How long did you recover ?

The first time took the longest because I was ingesting so much whey protein, and not realizing how much damage it was doing at first. My severe symptoms were absolutely no libido, no morning wood, numbness with my emotions, sensitivity to cold and physical numbness as well. I think recover really depends on your diet as well. You can't just avoid whey protein, you need to eat a cleaner diet. Minimal fast food and processed food, and maybe some light exercises such as walking and short sprints. Don't do long distance running, that would probably cause too much stress on your body right now. If you have severe symptoms, and you do these things, you can probably recover in a month or so. If you have only ingested small amounts of whey, then you can probably get back to around normal in a couple days.

I've been taking whey protein recovery powders for just over a year, unaware of the side effects. I have noticed a loss of libido (I formerly had a very high libido) and also a loss in penile size (recent measurements show 2cm loss in length.)

I have found a whey free protein powder called MRM VEGGIE ELITE, I just need to find somewhere that sells it.

I wonder how long do you think 4 days a week for a year would take to wear off?

Hi BBB, I'm at 80% the last year or so, sometimes 70% for a week or so and sometimes a tad over 80% but more or less 80%. Still if I'm sitting around all day sex doesn't come into my mind that often and pr{ck doesn't have a mind of its own yet so still at 80%, boners at 80%. I used to drink a lot of caffeine, I cut it back to one cup in the morning and started cycling and for the first time in years started to get wood during the night but not so in the morning. I agree with whoever, don't know if it was you or not who said that the cleaner your diet the better things become and for some reason sometimes tomato ketchup can cut me back a bit for a few days only, its ridiculous, sounds crazy but true, how I eat dictates how good I am below bit still no full recovery. one day I had a spicy sauce with my dinner and within ten minutes my pr;ick felt tingly and numb but a week later I could eat it and it mightened happen as bad..?? I also think that perhaps heavy weight training may slow recovery a bit, I do just a bit of weight training now and a while ago I stopped for a while and was pretty ok then although you cant say for sure if anything really works for recovery or not, you just have to wait for f;cking ages until one day you are lucky and you recover. weight training does whack your nervous system. keep in touch, talk to you later...

The cleaner you eat the better as in food in its most natural form, eat as unprocessed as possible, this seems to help a bit, seems to help the reaction but you're still not guaranteed recovery, it's not as simple as give up dairy and you're better in two weeks, I wish it was, you just have to wait, it's such a bast?rd...

What do you think of my theory that whey protein actually causes the brain or body to produce less dopamine, which causes all of these feelings of numbness and low sex drive. If you look up the symptoms of low dopamine depression, it seems as though that is what the whey protein has caused. I remember before I took whey protein, I had symptoms of high dopamine which is: high sex drive, sometimes eurphoria when exercising, and a lot of energy to take on each day. I also had a bit of emotional depression and ocd which is a symptom of dopamine that is too high. Now I have the complete opposite. Back when I first started taking whey protein, in about 2 weeks of taking it, my brain when from high dopamine/low serotonine to high serotonine and low dopamine. At first it was a nice little change because having very high dopamine isn't the greatest thing ever, but my brain chemistry has more or less stayed this way for the past 4 years. Now I have symtoms of high serotonin low dopamine. Low sex drive, Low motivation, low concentration, no euphoria when exercising, but don't have the emotional depression I had before because my serotonine is higher, which is the only positive I can think of. But why whey protein makes this shift in brain chemistry, I don't know.

If you took the time to read back over the thread you'll see I have this going on 10 yrs, I did recover twice, first time took two and a half years second time 4 years. I constantly tell people in the thread the faster you stop whey the quicker you'll recover, I took it for too long and that's why it's so hard to recover, I also believe that the longer it takes reaction to set in the worse you'll be, it took a year for it to happen to me. I know what's going on in my body and I know for absolute sure it's the whey so I don't like it when people tell me it's something else or it's in your head. You perhaps gave it up quick enough and recovered quickly. I'm not trying to frighten people but warn them under no circumstance touch whey ever again to test it and to give it up ASAP, it's the best advice I can give. Earlier in the thread a guy got reaction, then recovered, then took one scoop again to test it and "bang" he got it very bad...

Hi,

Since you're a doctor, is there any way to "clean / refresh" our blood, other than donating blood ? The erection is one problem, others is the numbness / lack of sensation. So to handle this, I think we have to refresh our blood, but don't know if is there any way other than donating blood.
Do you know any ? Supplement ?

I also have this problem. I feel no orgasm when cum, erection is recovering 80-90% after a month stopped whey, but the numbness is still there. Is there any vitamin for this ?
