Hello,
After my consult with Dr Day, I had my surgury the following week on April 10. He wrapped me in tensor bands which came off on the 2nd day following my surgery (Appt #1). I did not have the dissolvible stitches, I had the other kind. I had two sets of stitching, around the nipple and I had stitches on the inside because I had a lift done. The outside stitching around the nipple came out 4day(Appt #2) after surgery and the inner stitching stayed in for another 3weeks and was taken out at that appt #3.It stayed in longer b/c it helps to minimize scarring. My next appt is not until August.
I first 4days I could not have a shower, only a bath until the outer stitching came out. After 1 week I was moving alot better. I had to limit my lifting which was hard b/c I have a daughter. I could not pick her up for at least 2-3 weeks. But everyone is different, after 3 weeks I was back to normal no pain at all. It was not until at 5 weeks that I could actually lift my arms comfortably over my head without hesitation, and as of right now just about 2 month later its like I never had anything done.
My advise is rest very good the first week that is the toughest. You are going to need help getting in and out of bed and maybe walking around. Keep lots of pillows around b/c you'll be sleeping sitting up for a while. Laying on you back fully, was so unconfortable for me it hurt, and you can not pull yourself up. Laying on your side may hurt a bit for a while to. I just started sleeping on my stomach little bit at a time.
You may get a prescription that is for nausea(very expensive) you do not need it if you are the type who does not gets nautious.
Make sure you where a bra everyday or at least everyday( I am sure know this) or you will bottom out. Sleep in your sports bra its more comfortable. and massage as often per day as you can-it keeps the implant soft and you would not get hard breast. I did not start to massage till I got my last set of stitching out.
I hope this helps.
