I've got dry peeling hands and find that it gets worse when I use a lot of soaps, basically washing my hands too frequently. I've found that my hands feel a lot better and very moisturized if I mix Olive oil and some wild oil of oregano and rub it in. It takes a bit to absorb but it leaves my hands not itchy and feeling like normal.

Wow, I thought I was the only one with this problem. I'm 26 now, have had this problem about twice a year, ever since I a was a child. I started to carry lotion in my backpack in high school... Now at work, I still carry lotion. I'm not one who really likes to put on lotion at all, but my hands I make an exception on... One thing I must admit that works is getting a thin pair of cotton gloves, I chose black, & at night, before i go to bed, I would soak my hands for about a minute(no patience to soak longer), then damply dry them w/ a towel, then put on some lotion, then rub some petroleum jelly or baby oil, let it "soak in" for a few minutes, then add on some more lotion, then throw on the gloves... helps a lot.... big difference in the mornings... But I am a guy, of course the "lotion gloves" are way too feminine for me, so that's my version of lotion gloves... Hope this helps at least one person...

Try using pure olive oil on your hands. It's better than any hand lotion you'll ever buy. I worked in the restaurant business for years and my hands were constantly dry from all the handwashing, dishwashing, etc. We'd pour a little olive oil on our hands and it was like magic.

Hi!
I think I just found a product that might help you with your dry hands problem. I had the same problem, until i bought a pair of gloves that can moisturize your skin. It really helped me to rebalance my hand's moisture barrier.
It is a naturel product and it is made in Quebec.
I was reading the packaging, and I just found out they have a website. If you need more information on this product, go on ***edited by moderator*** web addresses not allowed

I started having my hands peel the beginning of this month. I first experienced my hands burning and itching and that lasted for like 2 days. After that nothing. Until a little while later One finger tip started to peel. I wasn't worried, just figured maybe I was more dehydrated than normal. But then the others started to peel. Today I noticed that it is starting on the other hand as well. I am job hunting so I am terrified to shake some ones hand b4 or after the interviews. I have tried lotion I have a triple moisture body cream from bath and body works but it doesn't seem to help. Here is what I found on one site for what may cause this. It might help some one here. ***edited by moderator*** web addresses not allowed until I can find something that works or it goes away I'm just stuck with it. Again maybe the link will help someone.

I have heard a rumor that this is caused by the same fungus as athlete's foot. I've yet to try it, but I'm going to soon.
Good luck, because this sucks.

I shed every spring/fall. It's been with me my whole life. It is how my hands are born again. The new skin is always baby soft.

I've recently noticed that the skin on both of my hands is peeling, although it is not particularly dry. It started on the knuckle closest to my nail on my left hand index finger, and I keep biting at the dead edges. Since that started a week or two ago, some other fingers have also started to get these patches where a layer of skin had gone, slowly radiating outwards. It's really starting to annoy me as I do moisturise my hands but they still peel. Anyone having a similar problem?

I've had this since I was a kid, I wouldnt say my hands are dry though, if anything I'd say perhaps they're overly moist? Like from sweat? My fingers will start to peel (sometimes getting so bad they turn red and get sensitive) then get down to the palms of my hands, the skin is always really soft and pulls off easily. In addition it has made it impossible for me to get finger printed, my prints never match up because my fingertips are constantly different than they were the day before. I've actually lost jobs because of it. And checking in at the gym where there's finger scanning check in is always a HUGE ordeal.

I highly suggest to stop jacking off at night, the enzymes in the spooge are causing your hands to chap and become flaky.
I went to the doctor and he recommended cow cream that seemed to work after several days.

My husband has been dealing with the same issue for YEARS I finally convinced him to use a paraffin wax treatment that you can buy on amazon... It's just one of those paraffin bath things... But he puts a REALLY good lotion on... Dips his hands 5 times, then puts the bags and the mits on and leave it on for 20 min... We started seeing improvements after 4 times of doing this.... I hope that this may bring some relief
