Can someone please help, my throat has been very swallen for the past 3 weeks or so it got so bad to the point where i felt like someonw was strangeling me i couldnt swallow food or anything so i went to my doctor and he diagnosed me with bronchitis he gave me a prescription for cefuroxime ve been taking 2 a day for the past 6 days and started feeling better but just today its been difficult swallowing food again, so i was looking at my tounge in the mirror and notices swallen wart like bumps on the very back of my tounge on the right and left side they are pinkish red and it feels as if im being choked again, could this be from the antibiotics that i am taking for the bronchitis? Im afraid to take them now because i think i could be allergic wich is why the back of my tounge looks this way. Can someone please give me an answer fast im really scared it could be serious

I have the same thing going on that you are talking about. I can actually see the fleshy colored enlarged circumvallate papillae on the back of my tongue. Everytime I swallow I feel it hit my tonsil of the back of my throat. It is so annoying. I went to the ENT in late May when it first came on. He said he saw nothing. I knew it had to be something because I could feel it. So we aren't imagining things. It then went away for a month or so and now it is back again. I was wondering if it came on because I came down with a cold a week ago and that is about the time I noticed it again. I also have bad allergies and post nasal drip. As well as acid reflux. All of these play into a lot of throat issues for me. Any advice on how to get this things to go down and stay down? Thanks for any advice. :)

I thought the same thing. That is the first thing I asked the doctor. It gives me anxiety feeling like there is something in the back of my throat of stuck on my tongue. It is almost a sticky feeling. It must be the swollen circumvallate papillae that feels like something obstructing swallowing without the sensation of something hitting the back of the throat. I don't know how to get them to become smaller again. Any luck for you with that now?

Hi,I have noticed these pimples on the back of my tongue,I now know they are circumvallate papillae. Is there any way of getting rid of them without having to see a doctor? And can you die from them? Im really scared and worried.
