Hello,
So this time last year, I had bad case of strep throat. I went to the doctor, got tested positive, and then took the antibiotics. The antibiotics got rid of the strep and any pain I had, but it left me with an enlarged right tonsil. I asked the doc, and she told me it was normal and would go away on it's own. It didn't... I returned and asked her about 4 months later because the swelling hadn't decreased at all, but again she told me it was nothing to worry about. Well now it's been a year, and i'm starting to worry...
I don't have any noticeable white spots/tonsil stones, which were symptoms in other posts i've read about. More often than not, I wake up with a bit of a sore throat, but nothing that keeps me from doing my daily activities. However, I haven't had strep throat since, and haven't had any more doses of antibiotics. Most days, I feel like my throat is congested. I feel things touching in my throat, and my uvula is almost always 'resting' on my right tonsil. Thankfully, it hasn't affected my breathing or sleeping, but it's just kind of an annoying feeling during the day. It definitely doesn't look/feel right to me.
I don't really want to go back to my doctor and ask them about it because they've told me not to worry about it, but I don't feel comfortable leaving it be. I think I'm going to have a new doctor look at it. I would really appreciate if anyone could help me diagnose my problem and give me any recommendations as to what I should do. Thank You! ~Andy
