After all the research I have been doing, I can't believe I have only just found this site. I have booked to have a lowerface/necklift at bumrungrand by Dr Nond in March next year. Now I am starting to worry. I am 66 and my main concern is my very prominent turkey neck. The drooping eyeids can wait, especially reading of people who have it all done at once. Has anyone had just this procedure? What should I expect?

I am 5 weeks post lower face and neck lift. I have excellent cosmetic effects. I still have considerable swelling and hardness in the areas where muscle was moved, like under my chin and next to my ears. I use a paint roller to smooth and soften the tissues. It feels good and I notice improvement. I know this takes months. I look so much better that it is all worth it to me.

I also went to Bumrungrad, different surgeon. If you can have someone with you, I don't see why it wouldn't be OK to have your eyes done as well. When you say a lower face lift only & neck, maybe that will be less invasive as a face lift, but the incisions will be the same. A basic face lift is lower and mid face. So that's not what you're having?
A brow lift is an additional procedure to what's referred to as a face lift.
It will be cheaper to have face and eyes at the same time. I had upper eyelids done many years ago and didn't have bandages. (It lasted 16 years, then skin drooped again in late forties) I think it's just when you get the lower ones done you're bandaged and so can't see for a day or so. That to me was a bit traumatic to have with my face lift because I was in pain AND temporarily blind! I found upper eyes no big deal or painful.

I am so sorry to hear all those hardship you are going through.check with a lawyer. May be you can sue your surgeon for his bad job. Or even send a letter and ask for all the expenses you have spent, before you start with a lawyer. Have you checked with different surgeon as a second openion for faster healing. Mary

Hi everyone, I had a mini facelift and upper bleph in January 2012. My scars are horrible and cannot be hidden with make up or by my hair.
I saw a different surgeon last week who says I should 'sue' the origional surgeon because of the mess he made. The new surgeon has offered to 'put things right' but this will basically involve doing the whole thing again and I'm not sure I can go through with it.
It takes months to get through a facelift procedure and anyone who says anything different is lying

Hi Jan,
I had a facelift and had to have it redone, which I did 2 years later. That was 8 mths. ago.
It was no way as bad and a lot less swelling compared to the first time. My scars had lines and patches of hypopigmentation mainly behind my ears. Most of it was removed the second time when all the incisions were done again, and it didn't reoccur the 2nd time. I highly recommend you consider the redo. After a year if you still want to improve your scars further, look into dermarollers.

Dr Roller seems to be the best rollers which this site sells, plus Dr Roller 'clones', for $17. I asked if the narrow 3 line roller or stamp would be best for behind ear scars and they suggested the stamp. The little needles, that don't hurt, produce fine trauma to the skin which breaks up scars and stimulates collagen and blood flow to go to the treated area. Works like a laser and on wrinkles too. Do 2-3 x weekly at night. Results start by 3 rd week for scars. You don't need to buy serums as well for good results. Dermatologists and beauticians do it using a Dermapen and charge hundred of dollars.

Hi everybody, thanks for sharing! I had a facelift in the Dominican 3 weeks ago. All is well so far, except the incissions in front of my ears. Do I keep them moist or let the scabs dry out? I just can't keep my fingers off them, but when do, my ears and my checks beside my ears hurt. Also it looks like little bts of fish line sticking out along the incissions which pull and hurt. Any ideas?

I had my eyes done and the Doctor removed too much skin and my eyes do not completely close and because of that my cornea had been damaged. I am going on threes years and still fighting the infections in my eye all the time. My eys shut down to light. I talked to another plastic surgean and he said don't ever get the eyeild skin removed just do a brow lift. Your eyes will be able to close the right way. I wished I would have seen this Doctor befor my surgery.

I had a facelift as well as some skin removed from my eyelids 8 weeks ago tomorrow. The Dr, highly recommended, also talked me into fat transfers to my under eye area, cheeks and marionette lines. The eyes were a piece of cake, no problems and quick recovery.I am diabetic and was not warned that the swelling could take longer then usual. The Dr. said 2-3 week recovery.
Problem is at 8 weeks now I look like I am on steriods. My ear, chin, side of cheeks are still discolored and very hard and swollen.Dr. gave me 3 courses of a low dose steroid and that did nothing.Only other option, he said was to inject the steroids intramuscular and I did not do that yet.He suggested a Lymphatic massage which I did last week and now I am double the size under my chin.Apparently the massage sent everything downwards and don't know if I should have another one.It seems to have pooled under the chin and jowl area, which is Really swollen now.I also have alittle yellow color bump under 1 eye? He said don't worry, it could be removed later. Did the fat leak???
I am sick from worry and making myself crazy about this bad decision I made.I wouldn't recommend my Dr. as he makes me feel like I am the only patient that is having a problem.Instead of reassuring me...he tells me about the 5,000 he has done with easy recoveries. No one mentioned that I feel like I have a rubberband around my upper neck and head and have trouble turning my head.
Any advise or reassurance would help!
Thanks,
Alison

I'm so sorry roma that your upper eyelid surgery was botched. For others reading this, a brow lift is more expensive and very invasive and your brows will be higher up which is a big change in the appearance of your face. Not everyone wants this obvious change. I don't think it is necessarily a better option to eyelid surgery. For a surgeon to remove too much skin is SO incompetent! Some eye specialist clinics also do this procedure as drooping skin can impair some patient's eye sight. These types of facilities maybe have far less stuff ups due to the fact they specialise in this op. I enquired at one once and their fee was the same as a p.surgeon's. My u.eyelid op lasted 16 years, very happy with it. Now my lids are sagging again, happend a few years ago at age 53. I asked a surgeon about having it done again, but he said there wasn't enough skin for any removal, although to me there is the same amount of lose skin as i had before the 1st op. I tried Botox which raised my brows and gave me eyelids again, BUT I got a droopy eye that lasted 5 weeks!
