I am 13 years old, turning 14 in a few months. I weigh about 100 pounds and feel really weird around all my skinny friends. I hate wearing shorts and don't like going swimming because of my legs and stomach. Gabby, you should not feel uncomfortable wearing shorts or going swimming. When I was your age I weighed much much more than 100 lbs I am now 25 years old and have my degree in exercise science and I am a personal trainer. 13 and 14 years old can be a rough time starting high school. The truth is you are at a healthy weight and if you lose weight especially if it is lost fast it can be very detrimental to your health and can cause serious health problems in your future. If you are concerned about your body ask your parents to take you to the doctor and they can help you make sure you are eating healthy, getting the vitamins, nutrients, and calories your body needs to stay healthy, as well as to make sure you get enough exercise. You need a good balance between nutrition and exercise. Just remember to not compare yourself to others because everyone's body is different and everyone's body responds differently to foods and different exercises. What may work for your friend may not work for you. There are so many factors when it come to someone's health. Learn to love yourself and your body because life will be miserable if you dont. You are young and have your entire life ahead of you, high school is only 4 years then you have a life time after that and I'll let you in on a secret, the friends that we have through school change after high school and their opinions will no longer matter.
