The heart palps, shortness of breath, tightening of chest didn't go away until close to my 4th month. I also used to have a crawling sensation on my upper chest area above breasts and upper back/neck area. It could've been anxiety or tension from all the stress. Ill be off 6 months on the 26th. Although it didn't completely cure what I was going through, Teas or anything to relax me helped the most. Have you gone to the doc to rule out any heart conditions? Its normal to get normal results and still feel the way you are if you have. Doctors aren't really trained in hormonal imbalance. Take care.
This is Shyla btw.
I've seen regular doctors who said nothing about my heart sounding abnormal, but my new doctor (she's amazing) offered to refer me to a cardiologist for peace of mind. This is just so hard. I've spent thousands of dollars going to doctors. Did you see a cardiologist?

Hey Shyla. I saw the emergency room and had several doctor visits. Every time I went in they told me I had a high pulse/heart rate. I think it really just had to do with hormones and anxiety/panic. I'm really glad you found a good doc. Like you I have invested quite a bit trying to feel better and find answers. Co pays, chiropractor/ acupuncture, meds, supplements, ER visits.. it adds up. I think you should see the cardiologist just rule anything out. Hopefully it doesn't run you too much. Ask them about tachycardia, it's an arrhythmia of the heart. I've heard of women going through this after the pill. I feel like this is what I was going through when I ended up in the ER. Good luck Shyla.

Yeah I might. I've had palps forever, and I don't notice them too often, but I do feel like my head rate is too high. I've been checked out by the ER twice and soooo many docs.
Also went to the eye doctor today. My eyesight wasn't too bad and nothing serious which surprised me because everything feels distorted still. And lights are too bright, stores frustrating. I'm in my fourth month but only just finished my first period since being off the pill. I hope and pray I start improving soon.

Also did you have any skin changes? Like darkening or anything? -Shyla
A little it wasn't too noticeable. My boyfriend pointed it out while I was on the pill, about 1-1/2 into taking it. At first I thought i had just been out in the sun too long. It was on forehead and by hair line. Like I said it's not to noticeable so it doesn't bother me too much.
How are you doing? I'm on my 4th day of my period. It's been a little rough this go round. More head pressure and my anxiety has been peaking more than it did during my last period. My acid reflux is acting up making it difficult for me to swallow/ throat feels tight which makes me feel like I want to panic. I just remind myself that my body is still trying to put itself back together and this is all hormones and that calms me down. 2 months ago I would've sent myself into a panic attack from reading too much into my physical symptoms.
Have you had any stomach issues since going off the pill? Sorry for taking so long to respond I've been so busy and feeling crummy.

1-1/2 years lol
Hey! Yes I've had some weird stomach issues. At least I think it's stomach? It's like I feel like I swallow too muc air when I eat or drink, like I constantly need to burp?? Has that happened to you? I've also had some acid reflux.
My biggest issue is still the weird feeling in my head. Like a constant spacey/drunk/dizzy feeling, especially in public places but really all the time. My head and face has a weird tingling pressure a lot of the time. My husband thinks it's all adrenal issues. I'm waiting for my blood tests to come back and hoping that'll help. This has been so hard.
I'm sorry your period has been rough. My first one a couple weeks ago was so so awful. I'm praying it gets better with each one. Wish my period had been regular from the beginning, I might've been further along by now. Sigh.

That's exactly what's been happening. I feel like I've been swollowing too much air. I consistently feel bloated and have to make myself burp if I can't. If it is the adreanals it makes sense because our cortisol levels are always elevated making our bodies stay in constant stress which can cause stomach tension/acid reflux.
Portion control and staying away from foods that trigger reflux help. I've taken some over the counter acid reflux pills (Zantac 150) for the last couple days and it has made me feel better. My throat stopped feeling so tight or like I had something stuck in it. The sinus/ear issues make me want to constantly swallow which is why I think I may have the air issue too.
I have to say I was able to make better food choices and monitor my portion control more in the beginning when I couldn't eat and had a bunch of food sensitivities. Now that I've been feeling better I'm able to eat more foods (sugar, dairy, gluten) without having an immediate reaction, but I have to say I felt my best when I was strict with my diet and portions.
I may be looking into a naturopath soon. I would definitely like to get my adrenals tested after what I've read and hearing you talk about it I'm convinced thats part of what I've been going through and why it's taking longer for me to heal from BC withdrawal. I miss being able to jog and push myself with my workouts, but if it is my adrenals they said working out will make things worse.
How long do you have to wait until you get your results back? You will feel better with each period it's just such a long up and down process : (

Interesting about the bloat thing. I keep thinking I'm making stuff up in my head! I'm nearing ovulation and praying it's better than last month. Last month I felt awful from ovulation through my period and started to feel a bit better last week when my period began waning. I've been "okay" since, but not great.
Does your head still feel weird? I'm much better outside than in, but my head still has a constant buzzy/spacey feeling. My absolute worst time of day is morning. I gradually get better as the day does on. My doctor said that's common with adrenal fatigue. Cortisol levels dip by evening so I start to feel more relaxed.
When is your worst/best time of day? I get test results back in two weeks, maybe sooner depending. She's testing everything. She thinks my progesterone is low and causing adrenal issues.

When I was at my worst I felt bad the entire day. The moment I woke up I'd feel the anxiety/tightening of chest/racing heart and had to jump out the bed to calm down. I couldn't sit still at work then after work I'd feel fatigued. Go home and straight to bed. Now I have more energy and do not wake up anxious. I sleep in later now because I'm probably getting better rest. I'm still winding down toward the evening though. I'd like to have a little more energy after work. I think these past months of me taking it easy plus supplements, avoiding hard exercise, caffeine, and alcohol is what's helped my adrenals heal but I know I still have further to go I don't feel 100% but I do feel better.
As for the head issues, spacey feeling. This cycle I was rough from ovulation all the way to the end of my period. So for about 2-3 weeks I've had more head pressure/fogginess. Yet it's been tolerable now that I've already experienced the worst. Last month I was fine through ovulation and my period which is what led me to believe that I feel worse when I ovulate from my left side. Probably why I've felt so crummy this cycle.
Can you ask your naturopath if she's ever heard of women having worse symtoms when they ovulate from a certain side? My left side was conflicted from the start. Sinus, ear, shoulder, neck tension have all been on my left side. I'm almost tempted to get my adrenals tested through this place online to save some money but Id probably benefit more from an actual naturopath.

Interesting, I do think what side you ovulate on matters. I'll definitely ask her.
Has your blood pressure been all over the place? Mine was super high the first few months and lately it's been really low. That's apparently common with adrenal issues.
My head/face pressure has been primarily on my right side. Does yours feel tingly sort of? It's not a headache and doesn't hurt, just feels like weird sinus pressure. And my sinuses open up a lot, which used to happen before all of this when I got super anxious.
Yeah, I just wish I could feel good during the day since I have my kiddos. It's such a bummer for them
To see me like this half the time.

Hey Shyla
My blood pressure has been really good before and after this started. I stopped going to the doctor because I was being treated like a hypochondriac so I haven't checked it since October or November. When my ear was fully plugged during the first couple months off the pill I did have that tingling sensation. Looking back my issues started gradually while on the pill. I slowly gained weight, close to 40 lbs with in the 2-1/2 years I was on it.
I also became extremely lazy and stressed out about life. Now that I think of it, while on the pill my body was starting to not be able to handle stress like it once could. I would automatically get really hot, flushed, and a small surge of panic when stress hit. I think the return of my crazy violent ex trying to get visitation rights to our child triggered a lot, but I put that in the back of my mind because I had been through worse before, but it did still bother me deeply.
I used to have more personality and slowly I felt like I was losing myself or my character. I had gone on vacation and ended up having a hot flash and heart palps out of no where. That was the first thing that alerted me, I didn't have any issues with flashes or my heart after that until I stopped the pill. Before I quit the pill I had started to feel strange. I had sinus pain and felt soo fat and unhappy. So I quit mid pack.
Within 2 weeks of quitting I woke up with a plugged ear and then the anxiety and panic attacks soon followed with in the first month of being off. Its as if the pill re-wired my mind and body and now its just trying to find its way back is the only way I can put it.
Have you had any issues with inflammation? The dermatologist saw my face and my post pill acne and said I had a lot of inflammation. I'm really starting to feel that I had been having adrenal issues while on the pill, but by the time I found out what was going on I was already in my worst state.

Hey! My issues started on the pill, too. Looking back, I was having a constant plugged nose and ears without much drainage, and I sneezed constantly. It was strange. I even went to the doctor for it and she told me to keep taking nasal spray. But my nose felt constantly stuffed up even with the spray.
I haven't really had any acne. My biggest issue I think is cortrisol levels which I believe makes me feel spaced out and tingly and really, really disoriented and foggy in public places. I'm about to mail off a saliva cortisol test my doctor gave me. Hoping those results come soon.
Did you have your hormones tested at all?
