I recently kissed someone and the very next day I came down with a fever of 102, body aches and sorethroat. What could this mean? I recently found out that the person I kissed has had unprotected sex with someone who shoots IV drugs, I am very concerned about HIV but I have heard that transmission through saliva is very rare. I also have OCD and bite my cheeks regularly but I am not bleeding or anything like that and I don't think that he had any cuts in his mouth but I cant be sure. What do you think caused my fever, sorethroat and body aches the very next day?
Hello there Jenny,
You are panicking and it would be wise to stop because stress is going to make you feel even worse and it will also increase symptoms of your OCD.
It is almost impossible to get infected with HIV or Hepatitis C trough saliva and I presume that you are afraid of these diseases because it is known fact that people who do drugs usually have them.
You are sick with cold or flu and all your symptoms are just ordinary signs that you will have to send some time treating yourself with hot soup and vitamins. It is just a coincidence that you got sick the very next day after you had kissed the person who could be, but you don’t know for sure, infected with some contagious disease.
