Just a little info about me is I had a fimbriectomy (form of tubal ligation) back in May 31, 2007 at the same time as a c-section. I have had pretty regular periods since than but there was one month when I was really stressed out and bleed for about 3 weeks off and on between periods. That happened only once and it was right after I stopped breastfeeding?!
Anyway my period usually comes every 6 weeks and lasts 3-5 days and the flow goes light-to-heavy-to-medium-to-light-to-spotting than gone. I always get painful cramps within 24 hours of my period.
About 6-9 days after ovulation I started getting sore boobs, nausea, and bloated I thought the nausea and bloating might be because of the tummy flu going around. Well my period was due April 23 and I had horrible cramps the on April 21 letting me know my period was coming, needless to say a put on a pad to be prepared, well it didn't show up. 8 days late my period finally came but it lasted less than 36 hours and the flow was too light even the color of the blood way lighter than usual. Well 2 days later I noticed when I went to the bathroom there was some blood on the TP and it was a deep red (not brown or brownish) and it was not in my panties only on the TP. Well this happened 3 times in 2 days, just on the TP, and than it stopped again. Again 2 days after that I woke up to 1 spot of blood in my panties and I put in a liner just in case. About 3 hours later I went to the bathroom and there was about 5 drops in the liner and nothing when I wiped so it had stopped again and nothing since, which was May 9.
Since than I have still had sore boobs, nausea, constipation, bloating, lose of appetite, frequent urination, and sporadic cramps have just started. I did take a pregnancy test when my period was 2 days late and it came up negative. Any advice or comments would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi,
have you considered to take one more test? It was maybe early for you to take the test and your hCG level was not high enough. These symptoms indicate pregnancy, so it might be for the best that you take one more test. If that one comes out to be negative, than you will have to go to see a doctor. Something is not good with your reproductive system.

I think that it's true that your periods have been coming on a little strange lately. I do want to point out that stress can be a major factor so bear in mind that if you have been anxious lately, that can have an impact on your health and on your periods. It is also possible that it is pregnancy but you do have to see what your results are about two weeks after being late, unfortunately. If it still comes up negative but you're having difficulties, you should try seeing your physician. Does anyone else have any insight?
Hi:
I understand your concern. It's scary to think that you are protected, but then think you might be pregnant. It sounds like, if you are pregnant because the tubal failed, you may have taken the test too early. I would suggest waiting about two weeks and then take it again. What is the failure rate with tubals? Is this a real possibility. Your doctor can answer that question for you, and I would start asking. I wish you the best. Please let us know about the tubal stats. I'm sure that our members want to know that information.

Hi and thanks for getting back to me.
I will start by saying that according to the sites I have visited that fimbriectomy tubals have the highest failure rate and any tubal failure rate goes up if you have it done at the time of a c-section. Some sites say anywhere from 1.8 - 2.6% failure occurs with fimbriectomy and all other tubal failure rates are a little bit lower but still higher than one would suspect.
I did take a pregnancy test yesterday and within the time limit it did come up negative but afterwords there was a faint + but it was 3 hours later so I know it was an evap line. Also, I went to my dr's today and he is testing my thyroid, fsh?, and other levels, I'm going to get the blood work first thing tomorrow so in a few days I should know what's going on. I still have sore boobs, nausea, and bloating but now im getting severe migraines, the cramps are happening more often I did have a stabbing pain yesterday for a brief second (this worries me as I had that kind of sensation with all my pregnancies around 8-9 weeks), and frequent urination. I told my dr. I am having a lot of the symptoms and I am concerned I told him if the blood work comes back fine, I'm still having pregnancy symptoms, and I miss or have another off/wrong period I want a ultrasound.
I'll keep you ladies updated and if anyone has any more info for me that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :-)
